Better make your marina reservation now. Cabo is very busy. Maybe make the crossing to PV as we did. Warmer waters and less wind. We’re in LaCruz and prices are much cheaper also.
I spent a week on the beach at San Jose Del Cabo in 1985 and I was also getting away from winter in Seattle. There was one sort of large hotel and about 5 other smaller hotels along the beach front. Mostly there was a long empty beach. I stayed in a beach motel. It was absolutely wonderful. I do recall that there are strong rip currents and a strong recommendation not to go swimming. I’m glad that you got to get away!
One of your best videos yet...Awesome videography and editing. Glad you were able to get away - I always know it’s warm and pleasant when Elizabeth brings out the sun hat. Can’t wait for you to bring Freedom down the coast. Thanks for this, was almost like being there myself.
Nice getaway, sometimes this is needed to just recharge and relax. The weather was good and i see you both enjoyed the trip. Of course prices are higher there it is consider a tourist destination. Looking forward to more of your adventures. keep safe thank you for sharing.
Next year when motoring down the coast to Mexico, please plan some subscriber fan meetups. We’d love to meet you here when you port for awhile in San Diego.
Looking forward to your trip south to Cabo next summer, can't wait to see the little Nordy ship take on some big ocean swells, oh and ya the vacation video was ok too!
One of my favourite little excursions on a skiing holiday in France was taking out some Ski-Doo's with some friends, because we had a lot of experience on motorbikes we ended up going much, much further than anyone else and really got our moneys worth out of it, but its still different from a bike as you push the bike out and yet lean in on the corners all counter intuitive if you have ever ridden a motorcycle, got so much air time taking off over jumps and the heated seats and grips were a real boon. You should have taken your boat there! Yeah not getting moisture in the fuel tank is crucial having had it happen to me once in the middle of nowhere and was stranded on a river, no one would give me a tow as I was too big, but in the end someone did get me to somewhere I could get someone to get to with a scrubbing machine out to clean my fuel, was about £250 not to bad considering.
Great segment, glad to see ya getting away from the Seattle area n’ recharging ur batteries. I look forward to seeing MV Freedom cruise down the south the pacific coast area into Mexico waters.
Can not wait till you sail down to the carribean . We live in Canada so Seattle is no different. Love the warm ventures in the nice places. Enjoy you both.
Very nice seeing you guys in the sunshine . The film editing and drone work was very well put together …. Similar to the great couple that we like to follow !!! And yes, Elizabeth looks great in pink … 😂
Hi..look's like you both of you had a great time on your get-away...love all of your videos....they are outstanding....enjoy the rest of your day....The Manbeck from Charleston SC....
While I enjoy watching your travels up north, I love warm weather and look forward to seeing your boat in the warm weather. Thanks for your videos, I look forward to them each week!
Nice trip! What a difference from Pacific NW! I too echo your advice to get away in January or February. In fact I am heading out to warmer waters tomorrow! Great time to be in the area is on Sammy Hagars birthday and paying a visit to Cabo Wabo. I truly felt sorry for the horse carrying Sean, he looked so small with Sean on him! Sean looked like he got his eyeball tickled during the Covid test.
So glad you enjoyed your trip to Cabo and really got to work on your tans! It has been many years since our last visit there and the growth is really amazing. Too bad they are having so many water issues. So much development that in some cases it has to be rationed. My brother and his wife own a home in Minden, NV but spend almost 10 months in a rented apartment. Their rent is is less than $700/month ($) and utility costs are minimal even when using their ac. I kind of doubt that they will ever move back to NV they love Mexico so much. Of course they speak fluent "Mexican" and that has made life so much more enjoyable for them.
Yes I'm with you there on flushing loos.Looking forward to the time that you guys are there with freedom, and the little guys as well, next year for the sun.
We just got back from a 2-month overland trip to Cabo with our truck and teardrop trailer, it was sooo good. We are now prepping for summer on Puget Sound on our Grand Banks :) Look forward to your next episode.
I had taken an ATV tour once and there was this couple that was afraid of the ATV’s so naturally they went in the front of the line and went as slow as possible. They only had one group and everybody hated these people by the time we got to an open area to pass them.
I just bought a bayliner 4550 in portland. I will be heading up to the sound in a couple months, then off to cabo in october. Let me know if you want to buddy boat down.
I lived down in San Jose del Cabo for 5 years, working for Puerto Los Cabos in residential sales. In fact my office was in the marina there just behind the Marina offices. Your best place to provision would be to go to Costco and for basic shopping items the locals go to Soriana which is 10 minutes inland from the old town square. From an exploratory point of view you might consider a month in San Jose, then up to La Paz for a bit, then Loretto, Bay of LA, and Rocky Point. There aren’t a lot of anchorages so you mainly go from marina to marina with a few spots to stop over in the lee of the few islands on the way up the eastern side of the Baja peninsula. There is also a group that comes down from San Diego each year as part of the Baja Ja Ja which you might consider for your first time doing the trip down from the states.
Nice place. Maybe an expensive resort, but it worth to give us a gift sometimes. Here in Laguna, South Brazil, where I live, is summer now, and our city is very nice. Unfortunately we do not have any resorts here.
Good show! That was a nice adventure to share! How is the infected finger doing? And, how was the reunion with the kids? I am guessing Mister Sully and Miss Martha were happy to see mom and dad.
The storm that I was caught in was on a run from Juneau to Ketchikan in July. The weather was great to start, by Chatham Strait it was really bad weather. At 12 knots we could not outrun the storm. The storm took out our radio so no "mayday". In 1970 we only had charts to use to find a safe place to anchor.
Like here in South Florida, Baja Sur gets its share of Hurricane action. I'm sure you've both taken that into consideration. Thanks for the video. Enjoyed it.
Where were all the beach vendors? Last time we were there they lined up at the beach border flags. The way you can tell a native Pacific NW is when they take vacation. No one would leave the NW in the summer but everyone takes a vitamin D break mid winter.
I know the weather is wonderful in Cabo or even SoCal.We lived in Ventura county for 32 years. My concern is, in the PNW, you have so many great harbors and little towns to cruise to, whereas in th e south, where would you go off too? From Ventura County, we sailed to the Channel Islands, but once you go there several times during a summer, where else?
In case you were unaware, there is a totally awesome Costco with items from all around the world right there. Every year that’s where I would provision for the trip north after racing down to Cabo on one of the many sloops l used to regularly crew on. Carretera San José Del Cabo 1659, 23410 Cabo San Lucas, B.C.S., Mexico
My wife loves your los cabo trucker hat you are wearing to go ATV riding. did you pick it up this trip? where. We are heading out in a week to Cabo and wanted to get her that hat.
Los Cabos is a tourist area of Baja. La Paz is where you will want to take your boat. Safe anchorage, old Mexican town and the real gateway to the Sea of Cortez. The price of everything should be a bit lower in La Paz too. You do NOT want to be down there in Hurricane season though. Another thing about Mexico is there are few restrictions and when you do risky stuff, there will be no recourse because Mexico assumes you are responsible for yourself. Fall in a hole on a sidewalk, too bad. I’m not saying this is bad mind you, but so many visitors from El Norte do not know or even understand this. Think before you take risks. I have seen para sail riders, towed aloft by a strong powerboat, dropped on rooftops because the boat driver, unlicensed, miscalculated. Yes, the woman then fell of the roof.
I was wondering what happen to your video this week. All weekend there was a women in a pink bikini with the title Las Cabo’s Mexico. Only this morning did I realize it wasMV Freedom. DIdn’t recognize you without clothes and mask! Mexico, very jealous.
We just found your channel today & we’re wondering if a captain’s license is required to be able to live in a boat and move from place to place? And how does one go about getting it? Thanks very much!
It is great fun for me to follow your adventures. Your videos are well done. I have a suggestion for your future planned trip on Freedom to this same port and beyond. You might have already considered this, but you many want to intentionally take Freedom into very bad weather. At a maximum speed of 7 to 8 knots it's difficult to outrun bad weather. You can find out just how Freedom will handle bad weather, plus how you will handle it as well. I have personally been on a 40 footer that couldn't outrun very bad weather.
I really enjoyed the views of Seattle. I used to believe it was the greatest place to live, but then, well, you know, it changed as others discovered the rain. Lol
Some people care about the boat and the people who run the boat…. It’s nice seeing that they want to check out possible future places to take Freedom. I think it’s cool they shared this with everyone, as it shows life doesn’t always revolve around a boat all the time. 🦀🦐😄
He's back... love the return of the Q & A... adds a great dimension to the presentation... which by itself is a perfect ten

Had a lot of nice comments. Some not so much. Try not to let it get to you. Just keep smiling.
Loved this video! We plan on going from Toronto to Cabo San Lucas this February. Some interesting info. Thanks Guys. Keep up the great work.
Looks like a great winter sun break and re-charge. Enjoyed the tour, thanks
Reminds me of the Canary islands, our escape from winter in The Netherlands. You might have the upper hand food wise.. love original Mexican food.
I will watch both you and Shawn from the safety of my recliner! Stay Safe!
One of your best videos yet...Awesome videography and editing.
Glad you were able to get away - I always know it’s warm and pleasant when Elizabeth brings out the sun hat.
Can’t wait for you to bring Freedom down the coast. Thanks for this, was almost like being there myself.
Susan and Tony here, Nice , we have been there 2016 , good vibes for sure
What could be better? Good on you two!

As you prepare to head south, You can check beach bods off the list. You both have that covered. ✌️
Very nice seeing you guys in the sunshine . The film editing and drone work was very well put together …. Similar to the great couple that we like to follow !!! And yes, Elizabeth looks great in pink … 😂
Thanks for filming your break it was greatly received, magic place
The baby turtle was so cute! Glad you caught the sun!
Love Hyatt we haven't done Mexico yet but Jamaica was great! Back to the cooler temps.
thanks folks. always enjoyable. JDR
Hi there. Hope you upload soon and you are both alright?
Hi..look's like you both of you had a great time on your get-away...love all of your videos....they are outstanding....enjoy the rest of your day....The Manbeck from Charleston SC....

Hope you guys had a nice trip!
Elizabeth, when Shawn wears that "Captain Awesome" T-shirt, you need to wear your "Admiral Incredible" shirt. Awesome video. Thanks for the vacation.

You could have taken the boat down and spent the winter there, that’s what I did. Nice trip south and summer for another 6 months.
Love your adventures - thanks for sharing
Looks amazing !
Nice to see you in warm weather and water.
Been to Cabo six times and Hawaii two times. I prefer Cabo.
I lived down in San Jose del Cabo for 5 years, working for Puerto Los Cabos in residential sales. In fact my office was in the marina there just behind the Marina offices. You two need to explore some of eastern Wa before you take off on your grand adventure:)
Here is Germany .... missing you too... hope the Freedom Crew is all right...
Nice to see you happy people please go on and thanks for the vids

Do they sanitize the horses in between riders?
Good show! That was a nice adventure to share! How is the infected finger doing? And, how was the reunion with the kids? I am guessing Mister Sully and Miss Martha were happy to see mom and dad.
Finger is perfectly healed and the kids smothered us with kisses!

Always a “Good Daddy” Shawn has a handle on the delivery of the “Puppy’s!

They won't have that problem in Feb/March. She mentioned that they plan to be down there in winter 2023.
@@yankinwaoz Thanks, I missed that.
While you were having a great time in Mexico, did the boat dogs at least get a spa day?
Keep up the great videos and above all STAY SAFE 🛥️❤️😷
They got a spa day when we got back!
Thanks for sharing the head question. Flushed that .lol. great response Shawn..... :)
How many times did Shawn check his phone with the Simpli safe app?.....a few i would guess lol
A lot, he likes new toys!
Would also be great to see the marina options you're considering and find out about the pricing, how it compares.
Wow that was an awesome vacation for sure. Great job.
Nice break from the cold north west! It’s bloody cold in Toronto Ontario today!
Great episode ,have to say that Elisabeth defiantly looks better in t he warmer climate 😂
Hi
Been following for a while, You mentioned moving out of USA to Mexico next spring just curious as to why.
It’s part of our cruising plan.
Hmmm,
I think most of us enjoyed Freedom motoring around Puget Sound, Who cares about Mexico. Adios muchachos!
Where did you go “this time”?
Where were all the beach vendors? Last time we were there they lined up at the beach border flags. The way you can tell a native Pacific NW is when they take vacation. No one would leave the NW in the summer but everyone takes a vitamin D break mid winter.

Sully and Martha need a vacation too.
Thanks.
My wife loves your los cabo trucker hat you are wearing to go ATV riding. did you pick it up this trip? where. We are heading out in a week to Cabo and wanted to get her that hat.

We didn’t saw the marina!?
That didn’t make the cut!
Why didn't you just cruise to mexico? You could have. And would have been a great adventure.
seems to me that your movie contract wasn't renewed by nordhavn.
I knew y’all were to far north!
I thought I was in Mexico yesterday, but it was only Walmart ... Roll Tide

Yep it is, and it takes about a year, and $1,500.00
NO IT DOES NOT. You only need a captain’s license if you inttend to do comercal work. As in charge for boat trips @@kenuber4014
Great vlog 💯👍💯👊💯💪💯🇺🇸💯😎
Shaun's horse was fast because it wanted his big ass off him...glad you guys had fun...
Are they gone again ?????
Two fish are in a tank. One says, ‘How do you drive this thing?’

That's a great idea. A "test run" of sorts so you aren't experiencing bad weather for the first time unpracticed.
The men of Culture demand Shawn videos more …. So we see more of Elizabeth … 😎🏦
I really enjoyed the views of Seattle. I used to believe it was the greatest place to live, but then, well, you know, it changed as others discovered the rain. Lol
Did a compost toilet inhale you guys?! Seriously gang , we miss you!
Lekker man lekker
Los Cabo was nice back in the 70’s before it became Orange County south
I say no time like the present to go cruising
why did we leave youtube 2.0 coming soon
NICE
Gone agin
Isn't it ironic that your mask says 'Freedom'? 😃
Yes very
Lol
Nice
I am missing MV freedom I hope they are ok.
Cool...
Y’all taking a break again?
Where are the dogs?
Dog sitter 😏
I heard if you just sneak into united states you don't need a covid test.
When I saw your mask I thought you might be going to start a 'Freedom' convoy in Me'hico...
It doesn't count if you didn't take the boat to Mexico ! I'm out !
Followed for years, not any longer. It's about the boat, not what you do on vacation. Sorry
Some people care about the boat and the people who run the boat…. It’s nice seeing that they want to check out possible future places to take Freedom. I think it’s cool they shared this with everyone, as it shows life doesn’t always revolve around a boat all the time. 🦀🦐😄
