sucks that i am running out of these field guides to binge, even though I joined the series late I have seen just about every one you made. it made me feel like I had a whole other layer of office on rewatches, like the superfan episodes did. you've also inspired me to start my own channel! thanks chris!

Did you mean to spell Dwight as Dwigt? I'd like to think that's a callback to Threat Level Midnight. Thanks Chris for making these videos. I've watched since the very beginning but never commented once. I hope you are very proud of this series. What an accomplishment!!

Dude, from the bottom of my heart I want to say thank you for making this series. When I first started watching I was in such a different place in life. I was working my first internship and I had never felt so lost. And now, I’m watching the finale of your series in a completely different state with a brand new career and a degree hanging on my wall. So much has changed, but your entertainment always remained consistent. And your analysis of the deeper meaning of the Office finale really spoke to me. So, thank you. And I’m looking forward to your future projects!

I got emotional from watching you recap the episode, because I vividly remember how I felt while watching. You put it well; it’s the perfect ending for the show, and captures those feelings of saying goodbye to all these characters. And I think it hits so close to home because I watched the show on repeat when COVID first happened, taking away my “lasts” of undergrad. And now, 4 years later, I still reminisce and think “Wow, those were the good old days, even if I was stressed to high hell”. This episode is a great reminder to live in the moment - don’t wish for the past too long or too often when the present is happening RIGHT NOW and you can make it as good as you want.
It’s been so awesome to watch you grow as a creator in the last five years, I look forward to see where your journey leads you 🫡

I really wish the deleted scene of Erin's parents explaining why they abandoned her (that they had been puppeteers on "The Dark Crystal" which was so bleak it made them not want to be parents in this dark oppressive world) had been left in. The reason is so far from rational that it makes her being given up for adoption an absurdity as well. I've said more than once in my comments on these videos that there is just no way a little baby wouldn't be adopted in America in this present era where there just aren't enough babies to meet demand. Her past of being shuffled around from foster home to foster home makes no sense. But if her past history is absurd...that kind of works.

Thank you for this series! I reflected back on when I started watching years ago, and things weren't great at that the time, and watching this series, along with the office gave me something less serious to think about. While things are better now, it's still been pleasure to watch it to the last episode! Congrats.

I can't remember if the yoga in the parking lot is explained in the episode itself, but I believe it's supposed to be in reference to a similar Japanese tradition. I believe (could very easily be wrong) that morning calisthenics is more of a grade school custom rather than a workplace one, but it would definitely tie into Dwight's karate training giving him at least an exposure to Japanese culture. Maybe not in a Gabe kind of obsession, but including that traditional custom (that some might even find old fashioned) to the office seems like a very Dwight thing to do. It's a toning down of the totalitarianism that old Dwight loves so much while also being something that the rest of the office would have certainly rolled their eyes at a year ago, showing that everyone has kind of settled down into a happy medium of just enjoying life. That's at least what I've taken out of that small clip.

I've watched all of your videos on The Office over the span of 2 years. For some reason, TH-cam didn't notify me that you had posted the Finale Field Guides. 1 - Shame on TH-cam. 2 - These videos should be put next to the Super Fan episodes on whatever streaming platform has those. Whenever I rewatch The Office now, I'll probably pair the episode I watch with your Field Guide for that episode. If this isn't proper art criticism, I don't know what is.

Your work means so much to me as an Office fan because you were able to capture and articulate all I felt watching the series, and you were one of the few sources with intellectual content on every episode. Your series and the show are like my Batman and Robin combination. Just like I miss the memories of watching The Office the first time round, I will miss watching a rerun of an episode of the show and then turning to TH-cam to check out your thoughts on it.🥲
