Holy Shit, I was at this show, and at the one after it at the Galaxy that night. I drove up from Murray, KY where I went to college. Such a great day man!
I will certify this GOLD! Been a San Diegan since '88, RFTC is easily one of the best acts to come outta here in 30 years. I remember getting Paint as Fregrance, on vinyl. Seen them live orobably between 20-30 times. Those early 90s Casbah gigs were the best. Best live band in the Solar System. The original Rocket just Headlined a big Halloween party this year at a SD hotel. Still kicking myself for not getting a ticket ahead of time... of course it was way Sold Out. Other than the occasional one off show like this year's Halloween party, Speedo and the Rocket boys are on to bigger and better things. Swami is easily one San Diego's best singer guitarist, if not THEE best.
Love this, if for nothing aside from the weird instrumental representation. Never seen John/Andy play through a Fender/Gretsch/Silvertone before. Sounds pretty great to me!
1. *I'm not sure about this one. It sounds like a reworked version of Venom Venom to me, but I could be wrong. Any corrections are welcome.* 2. Slow 3. Misbeaten 4. S.O.S. 5. Down in the Boondocks (Billy Joe Royal Cover) 6. *????* 7. Blue Cowboy (Greg Sage Cover) 8. Ghost Shark
They did a very similar setlist/show at Spaceboy Music in Philly. I think it was right around when Group Sounds came out. It was a pretty great time, they sounded awesome.
Great footage! Thanks :). If you still like them, I recently recorded an awesome show of them playing a European youth centre (300 people capacity) in Belgium, the day before they played Groezrock. It was the best RFTC show I've been to. I recorded the entire gig, you can find it under my playlists.
I haven't posted the Galaxy set. The audio is blown and I got a little carried away with dancing rather than filming, so it's rather shaky. I may try to pick out some of the better parts to post in the future.
The look on the dude in audience when they broke was priceless.. he was like you got to be kidding “boondocks “ are you kidding me !! Lol this is punk rock wtf I quit working at Burger King for this shit..
@@aWhimTested Yessiree! If I had any idea someone was filming don't you thin EYE OF ALL PEOPLE would have bailed out da shot?!? But to be for real - Yep. I was there with my girlfriend, best friend and dad. I had seen them in PIttsburgh the night before with said girlfriend.
lets face it folks , one of the best bands of the last 20 years
I love this band. John Reis is my favorite singer on Rocket from the Crypt. 👍🏻😊.
that’s my dad playing bass
I can honestly say I saw these guys live in Memphis '96. Unforgettable performance. Incredible band way ahead of their time.
Was that with Rancid and Pezz?
@@Ghengisape suicide machines, rftc, rancid
@@joeygravano9114 I was at that show too... I forgot Suicide Machines played. Great show!

John Reis is the greatest musical treasure in San Diego. As San Diegan, I am so proud of this band and all the other Swami bands.
never got to see these dudes. plz one more tour
I saw these guys in Lawrence, KS sometime in the mid 90s. They kicked ass.

this was kinda adorable and awesome
Didn't realize Mario was a lefty until he grabbed the guitar. Who knew?
I haven't found it
Would you be able to post the setlist? Cheers.
La France vous aime!
Don't think that I've seen them play anything but Les Pauls, Speedo may have used an SG once but never what they are playing here now.
My guess would be they are borrowing instruments from another band they played with because they had already loaded into the club for the late show.
Dude, you should have asked me to move my shaggy head!
Joshua Rabon that was YOU inda way???
