It was many years before i discovered my fav band Toto play on this tune!!!
Like this version by Peter Frampton. just when I first started to listen to singers in different genres other than rock and roll etc. He was such a heart throb in his younger days. Also, still quite the musician.
Just a relaxed version....not filled with emotions etc.

Beautiful song I listened to this when I drove to my partners house ...sadly she passed away ...this and golden slumbers in the movie always makes me think of her...how I wish I could turn the clock back ( like the movie)

One of the very few good covers from the film soundtrack. Aerosmith did a good job with Come Together. Sandy Farina sounds good on this soundtrack too. The Bee Gees sucked, and so did Earth Wind & Fire.

My rich classmates back in high school would bring their album copies in school & I can only look in admiration & envy. My family can't afford it. We did not even have a stereo except for a used turn table that my father hooked up with an old 8-track car stereo that his boss disposed.

One of the few times a cover was better than the original. Peter just blew me away with this. David Draiman from Disturbed did a similar cover of Simon & Garfunkels, "Sound of Silence," and that was pretty terrific. The movie had some great covers like Sandy Farina singing Strawberry Fields Forever too. That was a long time ago. Saw Sgt Peppers with my Dad back at age 10 in Tulsa OK, I am 50 now.... but yes this is pretty much one of my favorites in that movie.

■However, just from it's own artistic merits, this version can actually stand toe to toe with McCartney's.

It's clear that people who say that this is the best cover of this song have never heard Olivia Newton-John's or George Michael's covers. They're far superior.
Haven't hear ONj's version, but once you see the video and live version 1999 by George Michael, you will see that it is

WHY THERES NO KARAOKE VERSION OF PETER FRAMPTONS VERSION...
Louis Armstrong, Frampton, whoever, it was written by Paul McCartney in Scotland and the Beatles version is by far the best version, I did enjoy Peter singing this in that terrible movie, it was a bright spot of the whole charade, but I think realistically Frampton was a guitar player and still is, that was and is his destiny, I have read that he really never did want to be a singer and hated the pretty boy image.

I have never heard that he didn’t really want to sing, but this man can write a song about anything! He has one about “I Saved a Bird Today”about a coot who stranded itself on his balcony in Nashville. Another is about a dead bird in a box. (I’m not sure if that song is part of the score he wrote for a Cleveland Ballet production.)
He has said he was attempting to escape the stereotypical image of teen heartthrob that the unexpected and unbelievable success of Frampton Comes Alive brought him. (I’m guilty. I won my FCA 2LP in 8th grade from a radio station.)
He later joined David Bowie “Glass Spider” tour playing lead guitar.. (There are videos available on here.) He directed the music for several motion pictures. “Almost Famous”is one you’re probably familiar with. I don’t know if he did other Cameron Crowe movies.
This Sgt Pepper’s movie was silly, but it was my last “date”with my father. We had to travel over an hour to see it on opening weekend. We had dinner at Victoria’s Station before the movie. I was a kid but wow, I felt so special that night, like a princess.
Many decades later, I began searching for my biological mother. It took many years, lots of patience, determination, imagination, and finally the courage to contact her and then to finally meet her. This song perfectly reflects that journey, no matter who sings it.
If you have the opportunity to see Frampton’s “Raw” show, I highly recommend it. All acoustic, many stories. I was fortunate enough to spend time with him after a show in Florida. Very kind. Like most musicians I’ve met on tour, he seemed a little lonely or homesick despite having his son with him.
