I wanted to remake it as well! I remember I took pictures of a lot of the textures and made a crappy MCreator mod. I did make a solar panel block with animation but I don't know if I have the original file anymore... I couldn't figure out how to rip the assets and I didn't know what engine to make it in I wish you luck on your journey!
Thank you very much! Sounds like you moved on, but in case you're curious, I ripped the assets by jailbreaking my phone, and I'm just making the game in Unity for the sake of quick development. I'll probably open source everything once it's done (and after cleaning up some god awful code).

There was another more creative-mode style game called Eden: World Builder that existed around this time and I played both of them a ton. Can’t wait to see how this project turns out if you choose to code it to completion.
I'm super happy to see so many other people that are as fond of these games as me. I honestly thought no one else would remember this stuff before I uploaded videos on it. I've come this far in the project, and I'm basically done with the hard part, so you bet I'm gonna finish it

Typing this as I watch: Shader issue is a nice little detail, I think you should keep it. Keeps it classic. It’s amazing you were able to pull all of the assets off the phone, I wonder if you uncovered anything that the devs left behind and didn’t end up including. I know there’s a wiki somewhere that probably goes way in depth, but it’s such a compelling little game. Wonder if it’s possible to use the reconstruction as the basis for something new, something on your own direction. Does this invite the possibility of any backlash for doing this? I don’t know what happened to the owners or developers, or if the assets are owned by anyone. This is such a cool project man. You got a discord or anything that you could post updates to? Actually, in the original game the neptunium block was this ugly puke-green, even though the inventory icon was this sky-looking texture. That sky texture actually exists in the texture atlas, but it seems that the developer mapped it wrong, so I think I'll restore that intended texture (which looks pretty nice). Aside from that, there were three main menu background images that weren't used for some reason, so I stuck those in as well. The developer also left a little TODO file that you can read on the wiki. As for backlash, I'm hoping that as long as I don't monetize it the original developer would be cool with it, and I'll be sure to credit him whenever possible. Apparently the game was made by a single guy named Charlie Deck, who has a website that you can look up. Since the game is so close to being done, I probably won't post any updates until it is. I can't imagine anything super exciting will happen from here on out. Once it's done, I'll throw together a little website to host it on. I have never clicked on a video so fast upon seeing it. What an obscure thing to find. This game had such a strange vibe, i used to play it nearly every morning on the bus ride to school before i got minecraft pocket edition.

It's an old Minecraft clone for iOS that came out back in 2011. It was taken off the app store recently, and the company behind it seems to have disappeared. I really enjoyed it back in the day and have a lot of nostalgia for it, so I'm recreating it for PC. I posted a video on the original game about a year ago if you wanna check it out
It may not look like I've accomplished much since I sent you that last screenshot, but I swear the size of the codebase has at least tripled since then 🤣
I actually have seen the Blue 1 creature! they spawn in small groups, i think in large, flat areas. my memory's vague but i do believe the can shoot projectiles at you once provoked!
@@sepulous might be mixing the shooting feature with the astronauts you can find around, but i have seen maybe 2-3 in close proximity to each other. it may very well be an older version that i played.
There is, but the source code isn't available, and I don't see much hope for decompiling it, so recreating it from scratch using the texture/audio assets (which can be extracted) seems to be the only feasible approach. Even if there was a magical decompiler, I'm too deep into this to change course. Fortunately, I have all the game assets, and I think there's enough info on the wiki to let me recreate it at least 90% of the way.
Nah, I wanna stick to the original as much as possible. When I release this I'll probably go ahead and open source everything, then people can tweak it however they want

You may be thinking of another mob, I don't think they could ever shoot projectiles or spawn in groups. Maybe in an older version?
