    The fact that this device isn't getting absolutely championed at the highest level is absurd to me. You're so right, it can do everything the X, X SE, the Live II and all the others can do, minus some memory and knob functionality on the UI. But as far as the guts and the capability of it, it's right there with anything out. I love the MPC One. I sold mine becuase I was strapped for cash, now I'm regretting it.

    This video title makes it sound like the MPC One is vintage or something lol
    It's only like 4 years old.

    I bought my original black MPC One used for about $500 three years ago. Just a few days ago, traded in that same MPC One to put towards my newly purchased MPC Key 37. I have the Fabric Collection installed on it as a trial. I think I'm going to go ahead and purchase this plug-in and activate it because it has all of the essential basic traditional instrument sounds needed to develop a composition (pianos, bass guitars, strings, etc....). Considering the fact the Key 37 is a keyboard MPC, I think Fabric should have been included with it as standard, even if that pushes the price of the MPC Key 37 up a couple hundred dollars. It's definitely worth it.
    MPC Key-37 with Fabric is an ultimate power house portable workstation. WOW, It's such a nice piece.
    Anyway, that track you made sounds awesome. Keep doing what you're doing. When you picked up that guitar and started playing, the track just went to a whole new level!!!

    Last month I bought a One Plus for 5 dollars short of 400.....So 395,- (euros to be exact)
    Paired it with a 4 in 6 out external USB sound"card" unit that I had laying around and a good Midi Keyboard and now it does even better than the MPC "keys61"

    I bought a MPC One + 3 weeks ago and I've never been more happy with a new piece of hardware. Once I got through a bunch of tutorials and started understanding how the stuff works I just fell in love with it. I'm a synthwave guy, and this thing is pretty awesome for that.
    I come from ipads with Drambo, and I absolutely love Drambo, but I think I now prefer working on the MPC. I did not expect the pads to be as expressive as they are. Hard to go back to just a screen after having something I can slap around.
    If you want to make synthwave on these, get the Jura plugin for this. It's a Juno replica and it does everything from basses to pads and stabs and fantastic arps for that warm 80s vibe. OPx-4 is a really good FM synth you can buy as well, it's a bit tedious to program though (that's FM for you..)
    There's even a moog model D clone you can buy, so this is kind of a powerhouse for 80s synth nostalgia. And there's the Flavor Pro plugin with the best VHS preset I have ever heard.
    Love this thing.

    Oh yeah, I bought a used MPC One last year too. Barely used it. But a couple of weeks ago Roger Linn gave his approval for the new MPCs in a video on his channel. I've always found the MPC workflow and structure unnecessarily cumbersome but now that your video has also appeared in my feed I might just give it another chance.

      Low Heat!! 👑🫡🙏 the workflow is so confusing at first and then it clicks and everything is super fast, but getting there is honestly so frustrating that I understand when people bounce off. That Roger Linn video was awesome too

      The workflow of the newer MPC's (One, Live, etc) is drastically different than the previous generations. It's a lot more complicated and confusing. The MPC One isn't that hard to learn but the older ones are so much easier, but have less bells and whistles.

    I bought my 1st ever MPC One + almost a year ago from Amazon ,always wanted a MPC years ago but there 2,000 price tags made no sense. Happy with my MPC one +. Overall very happy.
    Also if Akai could do an update to introduce 3rd party VST plugins as an option that would be awesome too for standalone.

    I have owned the Mpc live (OG) since it came out. Still works great. I did one of those make 30 beats in 30 days challenges and was able to find a way to make good quality music quickly. Over the last few years I’ve gone back to a daw setup w/ outboard gear… but at some point every year do go back and bang out some beats on the Mpc

      @@DylanParisMusic I recently learned about resampling so that I can sample the guitar audio tracks I record to normal midi tracks, enabling muting really easily. It's wonderful! The MPC is so versatile across all music styles!
      I've had the Keys 37 since launch, and I still learn new stuff about it every day. Quite possibly the best bit of gear I've ever bought! I've been thinking of getting an MPC One as well, but thankfully lack of money beats out my silly wants!

    I think the low price for a box with so much packed into says a ton about the value of good UI. People are quick to say "oh the MPC workflow isn't for me" or similar, but the workflow is fine... the UI on the modern MPC series is just horrible. There are so many pages and hidden functions that people have to use constantly but are easy to forget exactly where that one thing might live. The very fact that converting chopped samples to a kit is a shift function, I mean... how many new users have been subjected to hours of youtube videos just to do the one thing the MPC was built for?
    Even watching this video we can see why the MPC breaks apart, it's those "uhh" moments where your brain just has to think about something other than the process of making music. This is coming from an MPC-One user, while it has the most bang for the buck, it's not a fun box. I find myself constantly reaching for my SP-404mkii over the MPC-One almost daily, or even an elektron box like the syntakt.

    • @DylanParisMusic
      @DylanParisMusic  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I disagree that it’s not fun but I agree that it takes FOREVER to get the hang of

    • @Jianemba
      @Jianemba 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I've made more guitar beats from scratch on this than my computer.
      Also from scratch with the basic free presets and sampled a few things. But the workflow and tempo gets me straight to creative mode.
      With the fx built in and your own accessories connected externally. You really just have to be willing to create, not know everything.

    I had a journey with the new MPCs and I've landed on really enjoying the MPC One. I no longer see it as MPC vs. SP vs. Digitakt vs. Maschine Plus vs. Push 3, etc. I think each of these are all unique and useful for their own purposes, each having its strengths, with some pretty common areas of overlap between them all. This has helped with my GAS and also with always feeling like what I have is inadequate to make what I feel is meaningful music.
    That being said, I totally agree the value of a used MPC One is very high bang for the buck.
    P.s. How is your "theory" knowledge when it comes to making music? I'm just curious as to what your background is in regards to that.

    • @DylanParisMusic
      @DylanParisMusic  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agreed! And my background with theory is almost nonexistent. I play most instruments by ear, I know a few chords on piano and guitar from lessons as a kid and also took marimba, violin, cello, and choir lessons in elementary school. No theory ever though, not opposed to it just wasn’t super interested

    • @remyvegamedia
      @remyvegamedia หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DylanParisMusic I was curious, because your chord/ usually make good "sense," so to speak, and that often happens by learning by ear, too. But it makes sense that you had experience with the fundamentals in your formative years. That makes more of a difference than we realize sometimes. Also makes sense you have vocal experience. Your vocals on your album sound really good man.
      So, I'm a piano/theory teacher and if you ever wanted to do a Zoom lesson I would absolutely love to share some useful and fun stuff with you. Not even just trying to plug, I just genuinely feel it would be fun to chop it up with you and share some of what I've learned haha. No pressure man, either way I'm here to support the channel, just reach out if you're ever interested!

    It'd be interesting to have your experience on this second hand buy compared to a new one : are paid plugins and extensions carried over ? Is it tied to the device or the user account? Did you factory reset it ? All the little practical details.

    • @DylanParisMusic

      Plugins carry over, the authentication process is annoying and finicky but I’ve done it about 5 times now

    • @MattPerrin
      @MattPerrin หลายเดือนก่อน

      I picked up a used Live2 on Reverb and only some of the plugins would transfer over to me (OP-X, and Delay Pro) from the previous owner. If I remember right, he said he couldn't transfer the others because he had bought them in a bundle and there was no option to allow it. I ended up factory resetting it when it arrived, and replaced the SSD with a new one just to be sure the unit was clean. When I reset my account on it, the two extra plugins installed just fine. Als0, the stock plugins & samples on the MPCs are impressive, but I found the real powerhouse feature is using Keygroups with samples from Splice. Hack them up a bit, apply effects, resample them, and it can be really fun to experiment with.
