It sounds like "mirin" was translated to sweet sake in English, haha. It's okay to just leave it as mirin. The other commonly used translation I've seen is when it is sold as "rice wine."

Most Asians don't like to waste parts of animals so almost everything is made edible as much as possible, fish eyes are actually delicious, it is quite fatty so the texture is like eating the fish meat near the stomach part, but there are two parts in the fish eye which are not edible, there's a bowl like shape of plastic which serves as the socket for the eye, don't eat that, and the inside of the eyeball has a hard part (most likely the size of a BB pellet), in this video it is quite larger than a BB pellet.. Texture for eyeball and meat around it is like eating pork skin that's simmered for hours, it's soft and is like gelatin..
I was just at the aquarium in Osaka and kept classifying the exhibits as "Masaru has eaten this" and "Masaru hasn't eaten this."
