    Thanks for the post: You have gone into detail, which is comendable. I fitted one of these, many years ago, to an iron head series V 1600cc Hillman Minx motor with all standard induction and exhaust manifolding, and found that the motor would happily rev out to 6,000 rpm . It is indeed a brilliant instrument. I'm going to fit one to an alloy head 1725 cc unit now: looking forward to increase performance eand economy.

    My Weber 36 DCD (14) doesn’t have the same jets. Primary jet is 215 and secondary 200. Also the emulasion tubes are both 8 holes.
    It’s fitted to a Volvo Penta 130 (B20).
    I bought a refurbishing kit that I will use on at as well as a ultra sonic bath.

    that is the idle air screw. If that is missing you have no adjustment for air fuel mix at idle. The engine will not idle or idle high or erattic.
    I find many 36dcd carbs have this damaged on the inside. The srew was forced in too deep and the casing was damaged on the inside.

    Hey, if you're still around, I have a 28/36 DCD from a MK 1 Cortina GT and would like to modify it for a 1 Litre Turbo Charade - would you have any ideas on how to go about it? cheers.

    Hi
    I have a standard Golf Mk1 GTI 1800. The fuel injection has been giving me endless problems so I’ve decided to replace it with a Weber 36 DCD I have. Could you please advise me on the proper jets to use. The current setup is as follows; Choke 26/27. Main jet 125/140. Air correction jet 180/210. Emulsion tubes F23/F30. Any help will be appreciated.

    Great Tutorial. I have a Weber DCB1 off a French Simca 1500 and a DCD23 Carburettor body off a UK Ford Cortina GT1500, the DCB is nearly identical, (except to be a slightly chuckier casting of Buttresses adjacent to the Cold Start mechanism), to the DCD, and in the positioning of its Water Inlet feed and Outlet exit I presume that's what they are and are attached to the CS Cold Start mechanism. I am putting a 928cc Rootes Hilman Imp/Talbot engine in a Norton motorcycle frame and wish for space and efficiency reasons to use this type of 28/36 Weber carb', but need to change the choke sizes to 21/24 dimensions any advice my friend?

    Just wondering if you would recommend this carb for a 3.3 litre straight six engine.. I have one and been told there good but no one has ever done it that I know of. Thanks!

    Firstly the ejtting will vary from engine to engine but baseline should work fine.
    mains 1st stage 110 , second stage use the 125 you have.
    airs for 1st stage 180 2nd stage 210. try it out and then swop the airs around and see which one is better. Emulsion tubes remain as is. and cokes as is.
    That should be lighter on fuel and perform better.

    is this a 36/36dcd or a 28/36? because a 36/36 is synchronous the other is progressive

    • @tomassosaoconnor
      @tomassosaoconnor 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      This looks like some kind of progressive 36/36. I have a 28/36 on my Fiat 1500 and you can clearly see the difference in the diameters of the butterfly valves
      .
