Range Rover L322 Common Rust Spots & Exterior Issues

The Range Rover L322 (2002-2012) can have many different places which are gonna start to rust - if the car is used on winter salty roads regularly. The most common places are: rust on the rear sill, jacking point rust, tailgate rust, rear fender rust, subframe rust, brake pipe rust. But rust can appear on the front strut tower inside, on the rear subframe or inside the rear fenders.
The exterior of these cars can have other issues as well like disintegrating tail lights, disintegrating front lights, broken rear windshield wiper mechanism or broken tailgate cables.

Thank you for excellent review of the rust issue on the Range Rover
At the rear end you seem to have missed where a part of the suspension rusts through and through and can be catastrophic due to the fact the rear wheel completely understeers the vehicle.
Well done with the tail lights
Interesting that they used such sub standard plastic but in my experience they also used substandard steel as it rusts soo easily

Rust is the worst. It happens on the subframes of the 939 Alfa Romeos (Brera, Spider, 159), which I am looking to buy. So... When are you making video about them? :D

look on the bright side ,,, the chassis give little issues ,,, but the rear jacking points are tragic , I repair lots of those for folk ,,, not a cheap repair

That plastic bullshit underneath front subframe was the first thing I removed, tail and sidelights can be bought new for a price that is reasonable for a Range Rover these days and yeah you need to be very good friends with a bodyshop to combat the rust on a 20 year old car.

Everything made from aluminum will not rust (doors/ hood/ front fender)

-and most of the rust can be avoided if the owners protect these places preventively
