You will get a better result from the Kit Kats by trimming the wafers to shape first, then using the trimmings to mix with chocolate to get the paste to put between the wafers. This is what the makers of Kit Kats do to make the chocolate candy that goes between the wafers, taking all the kit kat bars that break before packaging and grinding them into a light, fluffy paste to go between the cookie wafers.
I can’t eat chocolate and have always wanted the butterfingers without it!!! I’m going to give this a try but with added fine ground nuts for added texture, I might even add roasted coconut as well😊

I only grab one and forget about them because they are out of sight. My peppermint patties are so cheap to make and taste better than the bought ones.

I am curious about that too, since you don't mention tempering the chocolate used for the coating. If it's true chocolate (made with cocoa butter) yet not tempered, do you simply store them in the refrigerator? Ingenious way to make the soft chocolate dough filling for the first, by the way.
