    Looking forward to your OBS video. I've used OBS for many of the same purposes but it's been to record "in camera" for my own talking head vids rather than do all the MultiCam and overlays in post. But I'd really love to know how to pull it off on a zoom.

    I’ve been wanting to learn how to do this. Sucks I don’t have a Mac

      You can get similar results with Windows using the free Open Broadcaster Studio (OBS Studio), which is supported by backers and sponsors (e.g., TH-cam, Facebook and Nvidia). Here's a demo: th-cam.com/video/YBNl4Es3iKU/w-d-xo.html.
      The Elgato Stream Deck makes the magic happen and has native support for OBS. Which Stream Deck? One has 6 buttons, which isn't enough. Pat used the XL with 32 buttons and most were unused. The sweet spot is the one with 15 buttons. Once you get a Stream Deck, you'll likely find other uses for it. I especially like an add-on that runs a speed test and shows the results in the button (which is a small screen).

    thanks Pat! Seems like audio is lagging... can it be synched without any virtual cables?

    Thanks Pat, great presentation. Looking at one of the replies it leaves me to believe that you can pre-program a Zoom viewer using Stream Deck to be more interactive. This would allow the program Producer (host) to included them as a direct part of the conversation on the same screen as the speaker. Hopefully I have explained it proper. Am I on the right track?

    This is great content. I manage a High School podcast. And I am considering filming a few episodes. In your opinion what do you think would be the most efficient / slimline way to record their podcast and put it out online? We have the Rodecaster Pro, Canon DSLR's, Mac Computers. Anything other than just hitting record and then taking that footage, editing it and throwing it up on TH-cam? My ideal scenario is that my students do this and upload it themselves. Is there a piece of software you would recommend to capture audio and video. They are not streaming. Just recording a podcast and we want to introduce video.

    Pat can you recommend a streaming service like ecamm for those of us who don’t own a Mac yet?

    Zv1 only does 720p without properly using a capture card correct?

    Does your Sony ZV-1 charge through the USB connection? I thought it was supposed to, but mine died on me during a stream. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Pat- trying to jump into this world. I want to give a live demonstration via Zoom with no lag via the audio and video, is that doable? Your presentation is great and I believe the harware/software you have presented will fit the bill. Before I purchase, just want to get a sense of the live presentation by me that is showing a clip concurrently with me demonstrating something and the clip will not "lag" or I won't. Thank you for your answer, if you can!

    If you want to present something in a meeting through your virtual camera won’t that be harder to see compared to hitting the present button in zoom?

    So disappointing when after all that cool stuff it's a stream deck you need to switch so smoothly.

    • @patflynn
      @patflynn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean that’s the answer, it’s a great tool to do it smoothly, although you can switch cams specifically just by clicking the different camera in Zoom.

    $20 a month, insanity, why don't they just sell the product at a one time price.
