    What other tips and tutorials would you like me to make?

      I prefer the actual vlogs over tutorials :), or those about cameras what have a b-roll

    The recent firmware made some changes in the Image Stabilization sadly. I do recommend using the low or medium setting if you are running the latest.

      Very sorry to hear that your footage didn't go to plan on your last trip, especially didn't help seeing as you had a bad experience there so added salt to the wound I guess. As with everything (disclaimer for others reading also), I can show you where the modes are and how to use them, but ultimately it is down to the individual to try them and see if it works for them. I do say at the beginning of the video I mainly use Standard IS as it is more than enough for most of my cases which are handheld. The high mode is good for if you are trying to make extreme shake slightly less shaky or trying to get ultra-smooth shots when the shots are already filmed with minimal shake.
      That said, I don't like to hear when someone is having issues with the G7X as it is such a cool little camera (check my Jersey vlogs - all filmed on the G7X2 exclusively and I'm happy with the quality).
      I just watched your last video (Thai hotel) where I see you mention about the stabilisation mode. The footage did look stable, but the focus was completely off which I think is the real reason the shots look bad. The reason for this is two-fold. One, it was near pitch black so thats why all the grain in the footage, and because it was dark, the camera couldn't focus well. The best way I find to get this camera to focus is to focus before hitting the video record button. Once you can see it is in focus, then hit record and it generally holds focus. due to your vlog mainly being a series of long shots, it meant it stayed out of focus.
      Unfortunately, the G7x does not have the dual pixel autofocus that constantly corrects itself so it is a manual task you as the camera operator have to do everytime before hitting record to get the shots in better focus. I really hope that helps you, I could see the shots were a lot better during the day, and given your style of shot, I would say you don't need to use the High mode at all, standard should be fine.Good luck with your new camera, please don't give up on it yet and all the best.

    • @MarlonKingShow
      @MarlonKingShow  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hope it works out for you, I never normally need to go above standard/normal/medium level for most my walking around shots, but high will defo help. I would recommend to set it back to normal after doing those shots though so you get less crop for your other shots. All the best.

      No problem at all, yes you can get some wide lense adaptors for this that clip on but personally I have never tried them.

    can I ask how to on the smooth skin setting while recording?

    • @MarlonKingShow
      @MarlonKingShow  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Lorlaine, I believe the smooth skin processing is for photos only. You can use portrait picture style which will soften a little in video mode. Hope that helps.

    • @MarlonKingShow
      @MarlonKingShow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, did you manage to get the option in the menu and select it okay?
      This will not remove all shakes like a go pro or something similar, you still need to be steady with your hands but it will reduce minor and small shakes.
