I'm only 4 minutes into this thing and I can tell I'm going to need to wear knee pads to do that Turkish get up.. Old knees I'm 58 these knees have gone out at least two times each. Loving the surfing Superman's. You call postural endurance.

Love the look of the 12 week programme you can buy. Does anyone know what equipment you would need, hopefully it can all be done at home, as I can bring myself to go to a gym. Rather be in the water or exercising with my family at home

I've been working for some years on Cris' programmes ,the free one's, and having done gym work for +40 years I use what best suits me. I can safely say that his programmes have been extremely beneficial to my surfing (I'm 62yrs, surfing since about 12 yrs old) and especially since rotator cuff debridement and reattached bicep ops last year. My body was well prep'd and I've come back stronger than otherwise...many thanks to Cris' programmes!

@@gregshark1546 Awesome to hear from someone who's been surfing for so long. Hope I can continue surfing when I'm 62 myself. Keep it up
I've done a few programmes that are out there and I suppose being young allows me to benefit differently, but what I've noticed with Cris is he goes in-depth into the exercises. in a way that most other guys don't. Really good stuff for anyone looking to understand the body better.

Great show, with the crawl how do you get around doing it with a broken big right toe, that has healed but not 100% mobility in it, cheers

How can you proof you are human? Jokes aside, this is great stuff. Any pointers on how much weight we should do the turkish get up?

Seems really counter-productive to the paddling movement, which is keeping your whole body PERFECTLY STILL and in balance with all the fluctuations of the ocean while your arms paddle like a mad bodybuilder.
Does anybody run to keep in shape? What exercise is compatible with paddling ? None.

Ok, keep it real with me, brother. I'm 49 yrs old, 162 lbs, 5'10", and athletic'ish. My 3 teen-aged kids surf and I love being out there with them, but right now I'm one giant kook-newbie in the water. Not pretty. After I spend 90 mins freaking out in 3'+ surf, and pretty much failing 99% of every time I get enough courage to make an attempt on a wave, I get up the next morning and I'm next level sore - like car crash sore - feels like my spine is pretty much fused from my shoulder blades thru my next up to the base of my head ... and my shoulders & lats pretty much cramp up just from emailing for work. So ... WTH, right? I laughed about it for a while, but now I'm over it. I wanna FRIGGIN SURF, and w/out the pain. So, my question to you is this ... is it possible to NOT get so ridiculously stiff & sore from a 90 min session? Give it to me straight. If I gotta deal with pain, OK. I'm a big boy. Just set my expectation for me. All input is welcome.

Balance your strength workouts with stretching-centric things like yoga & pilates, will help keep you strong AND flexible/mobile.
