I bought VTOL VR because of drewski. Ive never regretted a purchase more. it has made my social life non-existent and i have spent more time in the past week sitting in a VR cockpit than in the real world. I’ve racked 104 hours in the past 9 days of owning this game. Please send help.
@@brody810. Propably not that hard. I have never played VTOL VR, but I have DCS and I learned it all by myself. Just played tutorials and watched guides online. 180 hours later Im decent, but not that good in PVP.
@@brody810. super easy, the tutorials in game are fine, and i could nearly learn it myself, but i watched one like 13 min video and could easily fly from there, in multiplayer people are also good at helping you. Think i had it pretty good under control after like an hour and a half tops
I love the feature in this game where you can sync up the VR to your real life ejection seat and get sent straight into your ceiling. Would love to see this featured. Great video Drewski :)
Love the fact that you can be in a dogfight with 2 other planes fighting for your life and in the background there's always some kid on the radio going "So do I need the APU to fire my gun or what guys help plz"

Don't think it can ever be understated just how good VTOL VR is! Imagine the possibilities over the next few years. Even simple immersive things like, at night, the moonlight shadows but the focussing on the marks on the canopy.
As someone who actively worked on the Warthog it’s nice seeing someone who appreciates it so much. Love your vids man. This sim is incredibly accurate to the real cockpit and warning tones as well.
Try turning off the G-Limiter in the FA-26. Stay under 14 Gs (easy now that it shows on HMCS) and you won't take damage. This allows you to easily dodge incoming AMRAAMS and keep nose hot to guide your missile.
Out of all VR games on the market, VTOL VR is the most Polished. The controls feel snappy and clean, the clarity of the screen is phenomenal and almost 0 lag ( which is very important with a VR game) May not be the best VR game (but it is) but it's definitely the most Polished
People think “oh the graphics are so bad it’s not gonna be immersive” Lemme tell u, flying in the night pitch, low to the ground, breaking the sound barrier, then you get a missile lock and launch and your trying to tell where it came from while firing flares while trying to evade and not crash into the ground, it gets pretty immersive, I think it’s one of the vr games that is a must have, beat saber, blade and sorcery, and vtol vr.
After long times of watching, I pulled the trigger and bought this,and begun printing a 3d printed grip to hold the quest controller for better manoeuvres, this is the first game I've bought for my quest 2 and via airlink it's incredible and awe-inspiring

I've been thinking about DCS for a while and going through the HOTAS line but I was unsure. This video was super helpful! VR might be the way for me to get into sim flying through this game, also, a freaking VR headset for every other cool game to boot. Thanks for the advice stuff at the start, keep it up!
Go for dcs, its completely different experience. DCS is a real simulator, vtol is just non-realistic arcade (GAME!), youll need hotas and powerful pc for vr sure but you wont regret. It takes time to learn all the weapon systems and avionics but once you learn them you will never look back.
In my opinion VTOL VR is the best VR game out right now period. It some how makes hardcore combat flight simulators accessable to everyone. I really want to get into DCS, but it so god damn complicated and expensive to get into correctly.
I like when games don't focus on graphics, more focus on the overall experience, I miss some if the early 2000s ones something about those just hits different

I believe DCS in the F/A-18 you can use VR with the controllers just like VTOL VR… I did some digging and you can also use VR gloves in the F/A-18 but that’s the only aircraft able to allow this
It's possible, but I can't recommend it to anyone. There is no tactile feedback and obviously cockpits of real jets are not designed for bulky controllers. For VR in DCS you actually need even more advanced HOTAS than for 2D as you won't be able to use your keyboard that much.

I couldn't stand it, after a half hour it gave me headaches. Highly recommend an aftermarket strap, as well as facial interface. With both those replaced I can play VR comfortably for more than 2 hours, sometimes 3 at a time.

I was wondering if you would consider making a video that goes over some basic tips and tricks for the game. Like how to notch a missile and why it works, some basics of using certain weapons, good practice for detecting enemies and staying undetected, that kind of thing. i mean its not unheard of, an f15 lost its right wing and the pilot managed to land it, the only reason he didn't eject was because he couldn't see the damage through the fuel he was leaking.

At 4:24 is his first mistake by not using a visor, The visor allows you to pretty much have the HUD where ever you look so you can see in coming missiles. Edit: You can also use the borehead on your visor to just look at the target and lock on.

the thing I love about vtol is you could know nothing about the game and jump in and there will be people helping you out telling you what some phrases mean or how to use certain rockets and how like my self one day not even knowing how to use aim-120's then instantly the next day being confident using everything in the game no matter the aircraft

If you are worried about system specs don’t worry. I’m able to run it just fine on a laptop even with oculus and steam saying there would be a problem.

I've done all the flight sims in VR, including DCS and IL2, and this is the only one that gives me complete immersion.

I have DCS with all the equipment and many DLC's but play and enjoy VTOL more and find it more immersive in the feeling of flight.

The TrackIR clip is nearly 10yrs old and has yet to upgrade its apparatus, a velcro clip has worked wonders to remedy the dainty design.

Don’t even know if this will be seen but drewski, thanks for the content, got me on squad and I find out you do flight sims in vr, I would love to play with you sometime, I use HOTAS+ VR and nobody iv ever played with is as invested in it, I just feel it would be such an experience. At 4:24 is his first mistake by not using a visor,
The visor allows you to pretty much have the HUD where ever you look so you can see in coming missiles.
Edit: You can also use the borehead on your visor to just look at the target and lock on.

the thing I love about vtol is you could know nothing about the game and jump in and there will be people helping you out telling you what some phrases mean or how to use certain rockets and how like my self one day not even knowing how to use aim-120's then instantly the next day being confident using everything in the game no matter the aircraft

If you are worried about system specs don’t worry. I’m able to run it just fine on a laptop even with oculus and steam saying there would be a problem.
