  • Members of the Presidential Protection Service and journalists travelling with President Cyril Ramaphosa on the African Union peace mission to Ukraine and Russia were grounded in Poland at the weekend. A PPS member was also strip-searched by Polish police. They wanted to confiscate weapons from the chartered flight. Security officials were reportedly warned about custom requirements for transporting weapons via Poland. Security Expert Rory Steyn weighs in.

It’s this culture of incompetence of our officials, someone did not do their homework. they think Poland is a banana republic like this one where anything and anyone just comes in and welcomed with the spirit of “ubuntu” not caring wether our national security is threatened or not…they are an embarrassment🚮

Please don't feel that way. We're all learning from one another. We're all communicating together. A lot of times, folks don't know what is expected from one place to another. Trust issues, Please note that we do not promote violence. Nothing would happen to your people. Because of all the weapons, that was the biggest concern, and then also, we do have violence in some countries. (Example: We have been working with Haiti people, and therefore is a school not only for polish children, but for all children that parents are allowing to go to school. They have teachers that teach English, Polish, and they already speak Franch.) The Polish gentleman that is helping to get school supplies, they feed them there, computers, etc,, when civil uprising started to happen on Haiti, they wanted to get him immediately out of the country. Haiti is known for grabbing for andbask ransom. They also robbed the school, gangs kill, so much is going on, that for anyone to go there, you do need weapons. I'm sure you are aware of the civil unrest in Haiti. I wish you folks the best, and there's nothing that you folks can't accomplish. It will work out, just give it time. Bless you.

First know what happened, then comment.
Over 120 securities with 13 containers of arms wanted to escort South African president to Kiev.
Polish asked for the papers of the weapons but SA can not provide them. That was why they were restricted to stay in Poland and wait their president there.
    Will your country behave otherwise?
Besides, they informed the Polish authorities of only 30 personnel.
    Those weapons are for what?
    Stop blowing fake horns.

I think the amount of security staff was the most normal during such a visit. The more so that Ukraine is a wild country in a state of conflict and you have to be crazy to trust local protection. The members of the Ukrainian government themselves are protected by a few hundred hired mercenaries because the local authorities do not trust their own people. As for the number of personnel protecting President Ramaphosa, there is the issue of securing any location where President Cyril Ramaphosa may potentially appear, after all, his security will not follow him in a car at the last minute. The area must be checked and placed in advance. The task of protection is to secure each of the places that can potentially be visited and the access roads to them. If at least 20 people are sent to each of these locations, and there are several places, plus access roads, plus security constantly present with the president, plus additionally duplicate personal security personnel just in case. In these situations, it is the most normal and absolutely not exaggerated amount. In conclusion, I would like to add that as a Pole, I am ashamed of the scandalous behavior of this polish puppet government. When the US president comes to Poland, he is protected not by 150 people, but by half a thousand and is no any war in poland, and somehow no one sees this as a problem. But when President Cyril Ramaphosa arrives to conduct peace talks, normal and standard security procedures become crimes against humanity. What a nato hypocrisy.
