The new garage door looks very nice however I think the walk-in door should be painted to match it
Be careful with installing the lift on a garage floor. Us Floridians are on sand, and many homes have settling in garages already after 15 years or so without the added weight of lift plus car.

Having the small white door next to the garage door is just fine. He actually should leave it as is, as the house has white trim everywhere. He can tie in the cherry brown by staining/painting the wood fence to the left of that small door in a similar shade, and by having all future mulch/wood chips in similar color. A new roof should tie in with browns as well, like this roof. The black post light should then become white or the shade of the garage "knockers" (spray paint works). The key is to tie everything together. His mint/sage stucco (I think) siding is not easy to change, but is often paired with browns and whites. It's all about personal taste - somewhat subjective like art. :) Personally, I would've invested my money in the new roof first, as the leaks he mentioned could cause water damage/mold that could go into the thousands to fix. Especially after a storm or hurricane rages through the area.

You can switch from CFL bulbs to LED bulbs and solve most of your bug problem. The LED bulbs operate on a wavelength of light most bugs can’t see.
As a master garage door tech...if you paid more on that door and motor job then two Mercedes or a full size pick up then you got ripped dude lol. Motor install 450$ clopay canyon ridge door 3500-4000. Plus 5hr labor = 5200-5500 total.

I live in FLorida and I have never heard of these mosquitos. But I must say, we just had our garage faux wood painted and it is amazing!!
In some countries they use a mixture of petrol in a machine that burn this mixture and forming a white cloud that kills all type of bugs and mosquito in a very large area and last for a year or more , i don't know if its permitted in the US , but its a great solution

It currently looks extremely out of place on the house. I can't wait to see what is done to make the house go with the door. Light colors for contrast or dark colors for a better blend? I'm sure the entry doors will be matching soon as well as window frames. I want to install a nice wood like door as well. It makes a house look twice as good.
There are light bulbs you can purchase that won't attract bugs.

Dude I work for a garage door company . Just so you know the installer's forgot to put the hinge hardware on the outside in the middle of the door. If you have two handle a total of 4 then you should have 8 hinges. Just saying.

I love the new garage doors but I think if you paint the whole outside of the house white it would look much better just my opinion !

Yo I've lived in FL for a long time now and have never seen a bug problem like that.
I've lived in South and Central Florida for 15 years and have only seen it this bad with love bugs, but its not even close to this amount
Yes the love bugs are BRUTAL, but I have never seen them swarm a door like this.

That’s a wood overlay. Pretty much what you are doing is taking a double steel, Which is what we call a sandwich door. It has a higher R-value then a Holllow back. Anyways all you’re doing is screwing wood to the skin of the steel door. To make my point short they only last between 8 to 15 years tops. The sections tend to get weaker overtime like bending a piece of metal several times until you have two pieces. See. So Wood doors have been installed since the early 80s. Real wood doors. I just tore one out the other day and all it needed was a new springs because they were weak and old. But the customer wanted a New an more efficient Quality steel door. I have Took out steel an wood doors more than 25+ years old. No hate, it’s just steel doors are already heavy. don’t make them heavier. It might look good but you’re mixing gasoline with water. Don’t mix steel with wood. get a real wood door or a real steel door.
So its a high lift door.
