This showed up in my Recommended, I'm on the other side of the planet and not in the market for this work, but I thoroughly enjoyed the video and commentary! Clearly a thorough and quality job 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
Just make the dust somebody elses problem. Top work, lads 💀
Cheers my mate
yes really interested in toe and healing video in the future. Fantastic video!! ✨👍🏽✨👍🏽✨
Yes will do thanks for your input appreciate it
I think you boys made a nice job of that especially with it being up high like that. Some nice tips throughout the video too.
Thanks my friend glad you found it informative be sure you let us know if you wanted any info in future videos
looks really good. 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice job lads
☺️
A wee tip that made the strip out quicker is to cut the sill, uprights (FRAME) at a 45 so it doesn't pinch 👍
Yes agree my friend! Thank tou
Brilliant install.
Thank you
Thank you
Nice good work you boys do
Thanks 👍
Next time when cutting out openings like that put your straight edge the other side of the line, that way if your blade wonders it wonders inside the line not outside.
But how would you fix the straight edge timber to the wall? It would damage the bricks that are staying in
Mortar beds
@@stephenbygrave7950 could do but I think it’s better to just not slip with the grinder
Nice job though...
Fair play for taking it on....
I've seen someone slip doing that on a tower scaffold, resulting in 20 odd stitches across his throat...
Safety first
Nice job
Thanks!
Its a while since i have seen externaly glazed windows without a double sided antitheft seal
We took the gasket out, although could have still gotten the beads out even with the gasket in! Not very secure at all
Nice attention to detail.
Thank you! We try
Used to do one of those and full house of frames , before dark and a proper job btw😉🤣
Upstairs this though! Right pain keep mugging all bricks down the stairs
I hope the glass balustrade was fitted straight after.... breaking all kinds of building regs if it weren't!!!
Yes you can see it, the plaster is still wet
Yes as mentioned in another comment the brick that was cut should’ve been toothed out , you shouldn’t have an unglazed or unfaced part of the brick exposed to the weather. In time the corners will spall plus the appearance doesn’t look the same. You could cover it with some UPVC trim but not really the right way to do it. The lower sections should’ve had some cavity closer as well.
It has got cavity closers in
Glad to see ear defenders and masks but why no eye protection?
Wouldnt it be nice if you used a leaf sucker/ vacuum rather than a blower?
Doesn't work as well, the dust is being blown into the fresh air as you can see, a vacuum doesn't get enough of the dust
Perfekt! 👏👍🇨🇿
Thank you
Mini grinder connected to vac . Works a treat 😅
Need a 9 inch grinder
Mini grinder doesn't cut deep enough
Guild should be the other side of the cut line so you don't accidentally cut into the bricks which are staying in place ,screw it into the cement lines
I prefer simply to just not to slip and fix into the brick that’s goes in the bin
Makes the gable end look quite grand, safety glass has to be there but spoils the look.
Hahaahaha next year they wonder where the cracks come from.
Hi how much would i be looking at for this cut out and patio door fitted on upstairs window.cheers
Hi thanks for the comment if you WhatsApp me I can let you know

many thanks
I would hazard a guess, with no access problems...your probably looking between 3500 and 4000...for a 1800x2100 door
That wouldn't include any type of glass/ Juliet balcony...
I don't think I'm far out with that estimation...
Fair price for quality work
Its a big jump down to the garden.
Balustrade is up 👌🏽
Was that Vac working …
?
Y didn't u return half cut bricks on outside ?
We would we?
Because you’ve got exposed brick with no glaze or face , that’s why it should be done that way.
I thought the idea of dust suppression was to protect EVERYONE from the dust, not just blow it away from the guy on the stilly?im fairly sure that’s why they don’t do this on construction sites and they use water instead…which actually STOPS all of the dust instead of just blowing it next door. 🤦🏻♂️
Probably just get away with this south of the border, due to the frames fitted on the outside skin.Up here in Scotland,we fit on the inside scuncheon(ingoe),so would need to cut and tooth the brickwork. Not a criticism, just an observation
Jesus what time you lot work until? Hope they cooked you dinner 😂 tidy job though
What brand of windows would you recommend?
Advance70 by Selecta systems
On the first floor why. BIG WINDOWS 😱
👀
What you look at that 😀
Shame ur in north west am in north east and would otherwise ask u for work I made the units over ten year
Cutting that brickwork straight down will look piss poor on the edges should have cut halves out and rebuilt them … you’d only have to look at the top half and see the difference 😖
Disagree, the miss match mortar will look “piss poor” and stand out more, and you would notice this more more certainly when there upstairs nobody can even see the 5mm of the brick edge
@@GMWindowsDoorsLtd the point is given time the cut brick edges are prone to frost damage compared to the rest of the brick and will blow the brick face that’s why they have a hardened outer surface trust me I’m a bricklayer and seen brick shatter through this but hey-ho …. Just ask any worthwhile bricklayer they’ll say the same
@@johngarthwaite4051 I believe you dont worry, window fitters cut the bricks generally speaking, if a customer ever wanted us to turn the bricks round and and have the miss match mortar and also wanted the additional expense of a bricklayer then we would do this no problem for them
I'd be interested to see the finish on the cut bricks as well. I've just had larger french doors fit on a new extension (builder fitted agreed size smaller as "working alterations") and looks a right mess. They have trimmed it in uPVC D moulding and stands out even more. They kept avoiding the question what it would look like knowing they wouldn't be redoing the brick edges.
@@coppullcaveman yes I’m afraid they are cutting corners so it’s quicker and easier profit for them…. If they were professional about it they would of offered to replace the bricks it would of cost you a little more but will last where them brick edges are now prone to frost damage and might shatter or blow the edge with a cold winter they avoided because they didn’t want to employ a bricklayer, like I say if they’d of given you the option and were prepared to pay that bit extra you should of took it , but sounds like they didn’t offer because they wanted to move on to there next job to earn more money as fast as possible… very unprofessional, greed before satisfaction.
Should have cut that brickwork on waste side, naughty❤
?
Patio weather everything muddy an damp and u unintentionally tramp mud on white carpet
That doesn't sound good! Can't say that's ever happened to us
Leaf blowing 😢
What else do you suggest
Neither of you wearing safety glasses whilst using a grinder.
No consideration for neighbours withall the dust blowing on there boundry
We are doing there windows also fyi, and obviously we cleaned up before we left, have you any suggestions what we should do in the future?
Ignore @paulperrin2152 comments...
I'm sure dust wasn't much of an issue considering it was raining all day
@@stephenbygrave7950 🤣🤣🤣
What are your suggestions? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's a shame you didn't remove the window without cutting it as someone else could have used it and second hand window sell quite easily.
Yes although we end up keeping them for ages until they often end up in skip anywag
Wen cutting out yam meant to use water not blow it everywhere 😂
We do check our other videos
Hope the neighbours didn't have washing on the line. Ever heard of water to keep the dust down 😂😂😂😂😂 muppets
The red slurry would have ran down the wall, they had an awning fixed to the wall which would have covered in red brick slurry!
Hence why we used our common sense to blow the dust away
@@GMWindowsDoorsLtd all over next doors lol, simply rinse it off the walls, not rocket science
@@danielrogers2943 red brick slurry stains, and it would stain a white awning canopy directly underneath the doors, simply blow it away :) common sense my friend thank you for your input though
Imagine that red dust flying around thw corner on to someones washing, or anything. Irresponsible cutting.
It was either that or red brick slurry falling down the wall or on the awning below
We felt this was the best option for this particular project
No safety glasses? Our health and safety guys would have a shit fit if we didn't wear them while cutting brick.
They steam up when using dusk mask
Pay more for a good job, or get this.
How do you mean?
@GMWindowsDoorsLtd it would cost more to do it properly. I always tooth out, so it looks like it's always been like that, but that costs more as its more time consuming. Re done loads of straight cut out jobs when the customer has a proper look, but most customers don't know what they are looking at anyway.
@@davidr4114 I presume your a bricklayer not a window fitter?
A French door leading to oops nowhere 😂
those who built this house should be fired and should pay large fines, there is not enough joint between the bricks, how is it supposed to keep the house warm?
Lost me on this one we just install windows and doors
