Hi Everbody! Here is my Nexar Install video as well th-cam.com/video/lBEGcLvNedc/w-d-xo.html and my Nexar One Best Settings video th-cam.com/video/8bWYvNcam3M/w-d-xo.html Cheers!
Thank you for such a wonderful and detailed review. I've been looking at dash cams for a little while now, trying to figure out the best one for me. I just purchased a '24 Jeep Wrangler and it has the adaptive cruise control module box above the rear view mirror so I don't want to use a rear view mirror replacement type dash cam as the ACC box will get in the way of the video. So I've been looking at this Nexar One. I've seen many commercials on TV for it, and lots of good reviews for it online. I think if I were to get this one, I would want to affix it to the dash somehow, maybe with a a Rubigrid system that Bulletpoint mounting solutions sells, or some other way to attach it to the dash itself. Do you have any recommendations there? Also, do you have a top 5 dash cams suggestion? Is there a better dashcam for my situation in your opinion. I do love the features of this one but a little concerned with the size of the unit itself. If I put it on the dash, I wouldn't want the camera to obstruct my view out the windshield. Thank you for your time!
You're welcome Wrecked! Ah if you are looking for a cloud dash cam, the choices are very limited, we actually just lost Ring which I cover on this video th-cam.com/video/hIu8BVGkx5w/w-d-xo.html That leaves us with Nexar, Thinkware and Viofo. Here is the review for Thinkware th-cam.com/video/BAEH4f2ulEs/w-d-xo.html For 70mai, cloud functionality is limited to certain countries with USA unfortunately not being one of them. As far as mounting here is my video for it th-cam.com/video/lBEGcLvNedc/w-d-xo.html (which also covers mounting very low on the dash) And I just began working on a video to compare my top picks for different categories of dash cams, stay tuned, Cheers!
@@AlexAutoFunThank you so much for your very detailed, personalized and quick response. I was not expecting this and truly appreciate it. What is the dimenions of the Nexar One? I'm trying to see where I would mount it. Probably either Top Center or Bottom Center. But I don't want it to obstruct my view any. Thank you!
Hello, thank you so much for the video!! If I buy the subscription, can I see what the dashcam is seeing when someone is driving my car? For example, if I'm in my office, home, etc. Or do I have to be close to the cam? Also, if the driver unplugs the power, will the camera still record and go live to the phone?? Thank you so much!!
You're welcome Joe! Yes you can, regarding what happens if the dash cam loses power, there is a small amount of battery in the dash cam so you maybe able to stream or get notifications for a bit before the battery runs out. Hi Diecast! It's likely possible the current batteries on dash cams can cover or exceed that number of monitoring hours. Remember the battery is only for monitoring so it's low power consumption, then when an impact is detected the dash cam turns on to record the evidence. Now if you are looking for continuous recording, even if the battery can sustain recording for many hours the limitation will likely be the memory card capacity as the dash cam will quickly fill up with hours of video where potentially nothing happened (at which point the loop recording function will begin over writing the oldest video). If you want continuous recording the closest you can get to that would be time lapse but again potentially since the dash cam won't save the impact time, if you run it on time lapse you will have to manually review the entire time lapse to find the point of interest. And I have a parking monitor video coming where I cover this in more detail, stay tuned Bud, Cheers!
@@AlexAutoFun Id love to see your park m0de video.. since for me the mail purpose of a car cam is surveillance ( against vandalism ) when car is parked and a true functioning motion sensor ( something like how a battery powered ring does for homes! ) ( Will this cam be able to provide me that? or do you have any suggestion for my use case! Hi Leo! Ah I have not tested the Ring Dash Cam so I can't comment on it's performance but yes some people do run their dash cams off a battery pack. Thanks Alex! Ah, that's a good question that I get often. I think the best dash cam depends on what you are looking for in a dash cam. I run different ones on my cars so what I usually tell people looking for the right dash cam for them is to start by picking the style of dash cam (Mirror or classic stick). Then how many cameras does it need to have (1, 2 or 3). Now that you have narrowed your selections, consider how much you want to spend on one, that will narrow your choices even further. Then consider any special features you are looking for such as 360° video, Side Camera, Blind Spot Warning, Backup to SSD, Parking monitor without hardwire, cloud support, High Frame Rate, Etc. Finally you would want to compare video quality (I have several dashcam reviews on my channel under the playlist "dashcams" if you like to compare). And I just began working on a video to compare my top picks for different categories. Stay tuned, Cheers!
Thank you Frank! Ah yes you can, you can actually see this on my video around the 5 min mark (I blurred the location for privacy) But yes as long as the dash cam is on and you are using the Nexar Connect features which I explain on this video you will be able to track it. Cheers!

Hi Legend! It usually takes a few minutes but it does seem to depend on how much reception is in your area and how much reception is in the area the vehicle is located at. Cheers!
@@Legendz167 Yeah it is definitely not instantaneous (since the camera has to wake up and connect and the reception deal is one of the reasons Cloud dash cams have not taken off) Ah yes an alternative is this one th-cam.com/video/BAEH4f2ulEs/w-d-xo.html I would also say to try the Ring camera, but that ran into it's issues I cover here th-cam.com/video/hIu8BVGkx5w/w-d-xo.html Cheers!

I want a camera that is always recording. I want to be able to pull a video from say one week ago where someone said one of my employees cut them off etc. I don't want to be limited to the videos the driver chose to save. Does this camera have this feature?
Hi Wes! Yes, dash cams are always recording. However, remember that dashcams do not have unlimited recording storage. Once the memory card is full, the oldest video is overwritten. If you are looking to backup video in excess of what fits on to the memory card, you have 2 options. One would be to regularly take the memory card off the dash cam and copy the contents to your PC or the 2nd way would be to use a dash cam with backup capability like this one th-cam.com/video/vUEsIYEBVck/w-d-xo.html Cheers!
Hi P! Ah while you could use playback software to Zoom in, capturing license plates is a difficult thing to do for today's dashcams partially due to the dash cams using a wide angle lens and low frame rate. But also affected by how clean the windshield was, how fast the car passed you, if your car was moving or stationary, how far away the car was, how much light was available, if the license plate was level with your headlights (which blinds the dash cam due to the plate reflectiveness), the condition of the plate your are trying to capture (older plates are much harder to capture) and if the driver had any kind of cover on top of it. Typically high resolution or zooming only helps minimally to capture license plates. If the main priority for your dash cam is license plate capture, that is best achieved with a dash cam with narrow lens, scheduled exposure control, and ideally High Frame Rate (which can freeze fast moving objects, potentially allowing you too see more detail in their plates). Here is the best dash cam I have found for capturing license plates th-cam.com/video/d6OObfweGts/w-d-xo.html and here is another capable of high frame rate th-cam.com/video/FukYO3I8D1Y/w-d-xo.html Cheers!
Hi Tosh! You can access the dash cam remotely if using the Nexar Connect feature (remember this is a cloud connected dash cam which has that advantage over Wifi only dash cams where on those you do need to be in the car to access them) And here is my follow up video where I cover install and the Nexar Connect features. Cheers!
Hi Pedro! Ah remember this will depend on the area your car is located at and the area you are located (as far as cell phone reception) And will also depend on how fast the network is on the car side (which LTE antenna is currently used by the dash cam) and the speed of your cell phone network at the time you are trying to access live view. Cheers!
You know i considered the same thing. I ended up buying it anyway because i was living in San Diego and wanted the best i could find. I’ve had this dashcam for almost two years now and to be honest I forget the dashcam is even there. It ticks away behind my rearview and it blends in so well. I work on facilities where you can have dashcams and they catch everyone to tell them to take them off. Never been stopped once, they’ve never noticed my dashcam. And the quality is so good, even at night. It looks bulky but you’d be surprised how well it blends in. I’ve never been one to leave a comment but if you’re on the fence about getting one i highly recommend
I just bought this and cannot get it to connect. I wait for the light to turn solid blue and it never does and finally says "No connection available". any advice is appreciated!
Hi A! Ah I cover connections issues on my follow up video here th-cam.com/video/8bWYvNcam3M/w-d-xo.html Feel free to skip to the 4:30 mark if you already understand how the App works. The App will also let you know if it cannot connect to the dash cam as shown on that video and prompt to you disconnect (Forget) your current Wifi so it can connect to the dash cam. And if you still can't connect, I would recommend contacting Nexar for tech support, they may be able to walk you thru some troubleshooting steps. And please keep us posted on your findings. Cheers!
Hi Antonn! Ah good question, I couldn't tell you but I would recommend checking their privacy policy to see what data is collected (and shared if any). I placed the link to the dash cam in the video description if you need it, Cheers!

Hi Jeremiah! Ah good question, yes the dash cam does not need to be connected to your phone to record (allowing you to use Carplay) I actually cover this in detail at approx. the 12:00 mark. And here is my follow video showing the install process and parking monitoring features th-cam.com/video/lBEGcLvNedc/w-d-xo.html Cheers!
Hi John! I think it's larger size is a combination of several factors. Ring was designed to be placed on the bottom of the windshield so a long profile (think of a large spatula for cooking) allows for the components to be spread over a longer length which keeps the camera portion smaller. The Ring camera is also only a HD camera where the Nexar supports 4K (the supporting hardware to be able to run 4K is larger). And finally the Ring camera is newer, where Nexar came out before (as you can imagine 1st generation technologies are always larger than 2nd generation). Cheers!
Hi Katy! As explained on the video, the dash cam will work without a subscription. The only features you will not have access to is the cloud features (I cover this in more detail at the end of the video) Cheers!

Hi J! They seem to come up and go every so often (I put the link to it in the video description). Hi Kiran! The Nexar One already includes a 64GB memory card. However if you need more memory you can select a higher memory option when ordering. And I put the link to in the video description if you want to check it further. Cheers!

The problem with this camera if i need to download 1 hour of driving i might use 50 gigabyte of my Internet plan to upload the video to the cloud and 50 GB to download it from the Cloud to my phone and that can use all my cell phone allowance for the whole month! They should update the software to allow me to download it directly using Bluetooth without using the iCloud if I choose too
Hi Mike! Yes, I would not recommend a cloud dash cam for cases with limited cell phone data allowance. Downloading, uploading, or streaming video (specially 4K video) using LTE can consume very large amounts of data.
Are you able to zoom in on your phone to see LP#s far away when viewing the video playback?
@@AlexAutoFun wow! That was such a thorough answer. Thank you! Love the stash btw!
Thank you Bud!
So, would I need to be in the car to view the videos on the dashcam?
Hi Tosh! You can access the dash cam remotely if using the Nexar Connect feature (remember this is a cloud connected dash cam which has that advantage over Wifi only dash cams where on those you do need to be in the car to access them) And here is my follow up video where I cover install and the Nexar Connect features. Cheers!
Do you have to have your phone connected to the dashcam to have the video stored on the dash cam?
Hi Jorge! Nope, the dashcam records without needing to have the phone connected to it. Cheers!
Is there a quick response when you access live feed on your phone?
Hi Pedro! Ah remember this will depend on the area your car is located at and the area you are located (as far as cell phone reception) And will also depend on how fast the network is on the car side (which LTE antenna is currently used by the dash cam) and the speed of your cell phone network at the time you are trying to access live view. Cheers!
I’d totally buy this but it’s HUGE way too big to be in a windshield
Cheers!
@@AlexAutoFun thank you!
You're welcome!
Now, does the company sell your information or give it to any outside company?🤔
Hi Antonn! Ah good question, I couldn't tell you but I would recommend checking their privacy policy to see what data is collected (and shared if any). I placed the link to the dash cam in the video description if you need it, Cheers!
New subscriber here great videos
Thank you and welcome to the channel Elgreco, Cheers!
Is there an option to add a rear camera with this dashcam?
Hi F! Nope, if you need live video and a rear camera, here are two good alternatives th-cam.com/video/ojrVeOx7BZU/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/8Q-u3PHmfls/w-d-xo.html Cheers!
@@AlexAutoFun thanks!!

Not happy with my 890g hope this one is better night rear view is still dark
Hi AppleiOSGenius! Unfortunately the Nexar currently only supports Front and Cabin view. Cheers!
Do you know how the battery handles in the sun?
Hi P! The Nexar one is rated at a maximum temp of 140°F Cheers!
Does this have a rear dash cam accessory that records the back??
Hi Toby! Unfortunately the Nexar One Pro currently does not support a rear camera. Cheers!
Can I be connected to Apple car play and have this recording at the same time?
Hi Jeremiah! Ah good question, yes the dash cam does not need to be connected to your phone to record (allowing you to use Carplay) I actually cover this in detail at approx. the 12:00 mark. And here is my follow video showing the install process and parking monitoring features th-cam.com/video/lBEGcLvNedc/w-d-xo.html Cheers!
@@AlexAutoFun thanks sounds good great customer feedback! Will definitely be purchasing this dash cam because of you!
You're welcome and I placed the link to the dash cam in the video description, thank you for supporting the channel Jeremiah!@@Bigsleeper340i
Nice alternative to Ring but why is it so big and bulky!
Cheers!
Sir, will this work even without subscription?
Hi Katy! As explained on the video, the dash cam will work without a subscription. The only features you will not have access to is the cloud features (I cover this in more detail at the end of the video) Cheers!
Does the Nexar one work with Apple CarPlay connected
Hi Dusky! Ah good question, the dash cam does not need to be connected to your phone to record (allowing you to use Carplay) I actually cover this in detail at approx. the 12:00 mark. And here is my follow video showing the install process and parking monitoring features th-cam.com/video/lBEGcLvNedc/w-d-xo.html Cheers!
I’d have to remove my actual mirror to use this?
Hi Markel! Nope, the dash cam mounts to the windshield independently from your mirror. Here is the video showing the install process th-cam.com/video/lBEGcLvNedc/w-d-xo.html Cheers!
Is this camera still available?
Hi J! They seem to come up and go every so often (I put the link to it in the video description). Not sure if there is low stock or if they are limiting the amount of dash cams sold via Amazon vs direct from them. I will keep try to keep an eye on this. And in the mean time here are a couple of other dash cams that can also do live view th-cam.com/video/ojrVeOx7BZU/w-d-xo.html or th-cam.com/video/pe7MCtun4So/w-d-xo.html or th-cam.com/video/8Q-u3PHmfls/w-d-xo.html or th-cam.com/video/BAEH4f2ulEs/w-d-xo.html Cheers!
Can i share the remote live stream with unlimited users with nexar connect subscription.
Hi Umai! Nope, you can share a stream with a contact but the Nexar service does not have content distribution capabilities like social media apps have where a live stream can be created and viewed by a larger number of people. Cheers!
I buy 64gb storage sdcard can I change more storage sdcard or not
Hi Kiran! The Nexar One already includes a 64GB memory card. However if you need more memory you can select a higher memory option when ordering. And I put the link to in the video description if you want to check it further. Cheers!
No rear cameras?
Hi U! Nope, only front and cabin. Here is another solution if you need cloud support in the USA th-cam.com/video/BAEH4f2ulEs/w-d-xo.html and here is another with cloud support in certain areas outside the USA th-cam.com/video/8Q-u3PHmfls/w-d-xo.html Cheers!
For those cases where you don't need remove live video or cloud functions and are limited in cell phone data, I recommend a standard Wifi enabled dash cam. Here is a good one th-cam.com/video/Em73dAjyXSY/w-d-xo.html And I have more dash cam reviews on my channel in the playlist "Dash Cams Reviews" if you like to compare them. Cheers!
I’m having problems setting up the dash cam to the app
