    I started a mobile welding business 6 months ago and after a fortnight I was completely bust. Who knew you have to be able to weld to start a mobile welding business

      You’d be surprised how many times I’ve done repairs on jobs that were done by other “welders” / “welding business”

    My first welding set up was a mig 90’s Honda generator, that was maybe a 6000 watt(almost all the labels were gone when I got it) I fixed it up ran it and a Hobart flux machine I posted in my video about how to get started. But after I went to tech school I got a Lincoln ranger 225 built a little rig around it on a f350(nightmare of a truck constant issues mostly fuel related) but I never really ran it as a business because of the truck issues I kept having. Now it’s a few years later and I got a better truck and everything is more reliable and I can finally build my rig out how I need it, so that’s what I’ve begun doing.

    Can you still do a video on how you accept payments and how you keep track and stay organized with all your jobs? Maybe touch on how taxes work for this. My boyfriend and I just started our mobile welding business and looking for some help figuring out the right things to do😭 TIA!

    Also, do not limit yourself on just one source of income. Start investing in the stock market as well, just educate yourself first before throwing your money in wall street

    • @VMweldingandfab
      @VMweldingandfab  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I went to welding school and got my certificates but I’ve never been asked for proof of my certificates, so I wouldn’t really say that’s necessary. But do not try starting a business until you’re very confident with your welding skills.

      Nice man, I’m in Colorado. From what I’ve heard opportunities are endless in the north east. You can do from small repairs and custom fab, to structural or work as a maintenance welder at a port (if there’s one near you).

    • @VMweldingandfab
      @VMweldingandfab  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jims4877 I completely agree. I always say 10% is welding, 45% problem solving and the last 45% material prep and fab.

    Is an LLC the same as having your company INC? My dad started a welding business and he has it as Inc? Or should he change it to an LLC?

    • @LD.50
      @LD.50 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      LLC is best if you want to limit liability it's what most small businesses do. A corporation is best for larger businesses. It's best to talk with a lawyer about this stuff

    I'm looking to do the same thing. thanks for making the video, I had the impression that I needed a welder generator.
    what kind of jobs are you doing for this setup? like smallest so far and largest?

    • @VMweldingandfab
      @VMweldingandfab  ปีที่แล้ว

      You definitely don’t need an engine drive welder, specially if you’re not doing pipe work or structural stuff.
      Smallest I’ve done is tacking a nut over a snapped bolt and largest there’s a few, depending on how you look at it, but either 140ish ft of handrail, 120ish feet of fencing around a home or 4 pergolas that were 16’x6.5’.
