For the "high cpu usage" It is worth noting that you were seeing high percentage usage when the cpu was clocking below 2.0, which is normal, chrome would use 100% of a 1.1 ghz. but I think you can overcome this by forcing the cpu to stay clocked up.

Wow great video! From a student's perspective, if this thing had an accurate stylus like the Surface Pro 3, it'd be an instant buy for me. Hopefully the next version has that, along with 16GB of ram variants. Maybe a lower screen res too, unless Windows 10 handles scaling better.
are you able to install a classic shell on it? and how would performance do on medium sized files for say photoshop? i would mainly use it to transfer files from camera to a external hard drive on set and basic photoshop.
Try testing the battery with IE instead of Chrome and you will get almost double the battery life. All Macs and PCs get a significantly longer battery life when they're tested with their native browsers instead of chrome. I have no idea why but chrome sucks up ridiculous amounts battery no matter what you're doing (even if its just idling).
Display more the hardware and less your face. Nothing personal but I really wanted to look the device in depth.
