    Used to go with my cousin to the sheep’s sales when I lived in Malton in the 70’s. Those characters and that way of life now long gone, as is the show ground with the old grandstands! Very nostalgic and lovely to see again. Thanks for posting.

      I’ve come across some of Malton carnival, and pram racing along with some other stuff I’ll share when I get chance.

    I think the year is 1977. A few more names to add - 3.05 Joe Wildsmith from Fadmoor in blue tie (also again at 7.48); 5.28 Ian Screeton auctioneer's clerk; 6.51Ian Metcalfe from Helmsley on right at back; 7.36 Keith Ward (Cundall's shepherd) with beard larking about; 9.23 Mike Harrison clerking for John Cundall; 10.06 in grey jacket is possibly a Southwell; 10.56 hands on hip could be Lorne Wilkinson from Kirkbymoorside; 11.51 drover in the grey coat is Tosh (that's the only name I ever knew);

    5minutes, 48 seconds, I believe the man in the black jacket lifting hid stick is John Otterburn, dealer & cattle trucks owner of Mill Skut, Helmsley.

    It definitely is Jack Bulmer. He used to sell Suffolk sheep when we did
