Just got back from hospital with having surgery and really enjoyed this vid. Waiting for the next one now. And try kingsbridge down south. On your travels. Gorgeous and peaceful there.
Best museum that I've been to is Beamish open air museum in county Durham. Got to ride on the old back loading double deckers and old Sheffield tram again. Will go back when the 1950s town is fully built. It was interesting to visit Norman Wisdom's house and see some of his art work.
British treated German POWs with humanity. Cannot be said for the GREAT ESCAPE other side. Gratitude to the heroes of Burma, my birth country, who laid down their lives fighting the Japanese. The beauty of your video is the contemplative dialogue towards the end.
Been a few times ,very humbling! Whilst down sarf James you've got to check out Dartmouth if you never been, also Corf castle ,Durdle dor, Lulworth bay just to name a few ,all stunning places. If you like Whitby you will like Brixham it's very similar! Hope this helps matey
So happy you seem to have conquered your anxiety about talking on camera, you've fair blossomed. You are so engaging and funny and a right good bloke. Glad you've cracked 50k in subscribers, onwards and upwards 🙂
I was at the Eden camp three weeks ago, it's a fantastic place to visit. Iv'e been going there for the past 6 years on my visit to Gods country and every time it gets better. it as full of school trips then as well but the children are getting a good education of our history and what our parents and grand parents lived though. Loved all the shop windows and displays ,brought back many childhood memories. Never been to Malton , I usually stay round Pickering and stay on a campsite in Dalby forest. Looking forwards to returning next year. Loved your vid of Scarborough as well.
My mum sue has been watching your channel for at least a year and a half now! She’s mental 😂Watches all the adverts all the way through, so you get 2p she says 😂 she even bought some vp nuts! She always watches each video about 5 times. Always checking for the next video each day and says 2 videos a week just isn’t enough 😂 loves you and Helen for sure! Keep up the good content bro ;)

Great video James, Eden camp looks like it's worth a visit, amazing, we have never been. Glad it's been made into a museum, keeping our history alive... On another note I bet Helen can't wait for her holidays ❤
When you come down to the south. If you do coastal towns here is a few you might consider . Dymchurh is amazing . Just beyond Dymchurh there is a very quiet place called Greatstone . There is a miniature railway there that is a bit over priced . Ramsgate is very good , Dover beech is nice for a walk .Margate is a bit cheesey but ok . I hope this gives you a few places to check out . Great Vlogs thanks? Lyndon
Lost my Father, Kenneth, last year (92). He was evacuated aged 9/10 to Staveley near Windermere. Thank you for your Eden Camp episode the footage of kids being sent away with gasmasks over their shoulders is a minute detail of the conflict but all I need to know about the horrors of WW2.
Ossie's fish and chips 111 high street Whitstable Kent is good stuff good value. I would forget about Southend on sea. Tried there on Saturday it's not the same Southend (SUFFHEND) as when I were a wee Cockney lad.
Hi James if your going down south try fit in a visit to milton keynes .If you love war stuff you will love Bletchley Park where they did the code breaking during the war it's dead interesting . Lovely grounds there's a cafe in the Manor house. They have all the huts that were used as offices and the code breaking machines .
James never heard of the Eden camp but thanks for the content ..one fine day will make a visit having just got back from Albuferia you and Helen would really enjoy that place
I lived in Bishop Aucklandfor 20 years as ex husband was in RAF. My son went to the Eden project with school when he were younger and thoroughly enjoyed it!! (27 now) Divorced now, so been back home in Wales since 2018. Eden looks really interesting and I'd love to read all literearure about war and rations & look in all the rooms. I now live in Barry Island with my partner, there's plenty of great places to visit around South Wales, if you vidit this area im July. From Barry Island, Cardiff Bay, Porthcawl? Swansea and the Gower, Brecon Beacons and many more. If you do come down to Barry Island, give us a shout, we'd love to meet you and Helen for a few drinks!! Youre doing brilliantly making videos when Helen is working!! Have confidence in yourself. Have a great week. Dawn & Jay 😊🌞🏴🏴
Lived 17mile away from that camp all my life, never even heard of it.Nice one! Loved that sign "in case of an invasion we will be closed for 30mins" lol
Come to Colchester & see us! Nice castle etc, lots of history. Near clacton ( I know uv been) Walton, Frinton. We went to Sudbury Saturday, haven’t been for years (small market town) Bury st Edmund very nice too, not seaside towns though. Mersea Island (near colchester) Maldon ( famous for sea salt) Tiptree (famous for strawberries & jam factory) all good places. You’ll be coming South as we’re going North, back to Yorkshire to see the mother in law. Fab video as usual, caught up on the Barnsley one earlier… looked great. Love to you both, missing Helen. Lucy xx
It's interesting to see your journey since you began your TH-cam adventure. I, like you, would find it very difficult to open up my life to curious viewers. Your confidence has clearly grown and your enthusiasm has shone through. But it must be so challenging to find and produce interesting topics to satisfy your hungry viewers. Keep up the good work. 😎🇬🇷
Hi James been here 3 times ,but not recently,I love the ambiance of it ,but since then we have two dogs ,glad you announced it was dog friendly!we can now organise a day trip there !I know kids can be noisy on these trips but at least it shows that theyre still being taught the right side of history!looking forward to seeing Helen your fun together ,and hope your mums improving all the time 🤗
Eden camp is a terrific visit for anyone. Highly recommend it. Interesting fact. The road into Whitby across North York moors was laid by the prisoners interned in the camp. The submarine display gives many kid nightmares. The first time you think of being trapped in a tin can under the water which is taking on water and you know it cannot be stopped. We send men to do that. God rest them.
I enjoy your vlogs and always happy to watch till the end. Been to Malton once before but had never heard of Eden camp, and will definitely visit the next time I am in the area as it looks fantastic.
Very interesting and so scary when you think what the kids had to go through with the evacuations at that time. I don`t know what you consider ``down South`` as but my son and i are off to Southwold in Suffolk at the end of August, just for a three night break. There are other towns/villages close by like Aldeburgh, Snape, Dunwich, Thorpeness and many more along that coastline so check it out as i`m sure you and Helen will find it interesting.
If you go anywhere in Cornwall you need to go to the Eden project we’ve been 3 time and every time we went it was different set up like to see if it’s changed Port Issac is another little town Doc Martin series
Hi James, thanks for today's tour, enjoyed it as always. My dear mum & her family lived through the War (house in Hornchurch Essex near the aerodrome) & mum was 13 in 1943 when a Spitfire crashed into her school & killed the young American Pilot. She regaled me with many stories of growing up in War time, so I shed a tear watching the footage today xxx
Hey james ,thanks for another brilliant enjoyable vlog .been to malton so many times but never eden camp so must make a visit .yeah £15 is a little steep for cafe pricing . Ideas for the south coast - Littlehampton ,bognor regis, selsey ,Portsmouth. Further along Lymington is nice as is pool harbour and swanage .not sure how far along the south coast you want to go but lyme regis is nice too
I got a double feature today, one from Becky and one from you. Thank you for the tour of Malton. Lucky kids to be able to tour places like this, we never got to do this when I was a kid. Have a good week, see you in the next one.
You mentioned Jayne, of the Daily Mirror at an early point. As a youngster of about 10 years old, I remember seeing the live Jayne at the Bulwell Olympia, in Nottingham. My dad worked backstage and he sneaked me in. I think it must have been an Adult show at the time. That was about 70 years ago. When you come to the South coast, don't forget to come and see us at Sheffield Park and garden. Next to the Bluebell railway. Cheers, sithee James.
lyme regis in dorset is nice as is dartmouth in devon...if youre going to spain estepona and nerja are really nice and loads to see in the city of malaga
I'm really pleased you're coming down south. We're really nice people and not at all scary!! Can I recommend you visit Swanage in Dorset and Sidmouth in Devon. They are smaller than the obvious places like Bournemouth and Torquay but really lovely. Enjoy the South!!
Wow Eden camp looks brilliant really my type of thing I must visit that thank you James ♥️ we love Malton we’ve been a couple of times it’s a lovely little place ♥️😘😘
Hi James as another subscriber mentioned I think you should go to Beamish you and Helen would love it there’s loads to see and do, old fish and chip shops 1900s pub really good day out 👍
I've given up on many of the You Tubers I once watched. Its time consuming and, frankly, , many of them have changed, in a way I dont admire. So I now watch documentaries . That's NOT true of you and Helen, James. I'm binge watching your vlogs and loving them . They're interesting, varied and funny. You're both genuine and lovely people. Don't overdo things and get overtired, or burn out ,is my advice. Your health and happiness come first and foremost. You're my favourite You Tuber by miles. Thank you for your uploads.
Head to South Hams (South Devon). Dartmouth, Slapton sands and village (good pub!), Beesands, Start Point, East Portlemouth, Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Hope Cove, Bantham, Bigbury - lovely area and loads of pubs! Totnes worth a visit too and could always stop Bristol area on way down too (Portishead, Clifton area worth visiting)
When you visit the South Coast, visit southsea( Portsmouth), the d day museum on the sea front, take the Hovercraft over to the isle of wight for a day trip. Margaret
James, I would highly recommend taking the hovercraft over from Southsea to ryde and spending the day on the Isle of Wight The buses over there are really good . Would recommend the chairlift at Alum Bay and the seafront walk between Shanklin and Sandown.None of it too expensive
That was a really good video I would love to visit there I would probably need more than one day to explore it. I agree about the mugs suddenly have a paper cup does break the mood a little, but I guess you could say that about the prices too 😊 I guess it’s an age thing but I thoroughly enjoyed that vlog next time though go when the kids are all in school 😊 take care and looking forward to the next adventure.
I went the first week it opened, and been back numerous times, fantastic place ! And quite a few Italian pow married local girls and stayed in the area.. another top blog..
Bobby Davro, lol. Just before the vlog started you drove past a very decent chippy on the A64, Thompsons, up the road from me. Never realised that place was so big, driven past many a time, must visit it. Thanks for the upload.
Just been to budle bay bamburgh and seahouses dolpins swimming in the morning. Took the boat trip at seahouses out to sea to the islands the puffins are there at the min as are the artic turns the lingest emigrating bird in the world. Theyll be off soon chasing the summer. Worth a trip if u wanna know a car park to camp right next to the beach happy to tell ya. White sands blue seas awsome.
Thank you James top man loved the eden camp❤ what those poor men went through thank you for sharing 🙏 loved the town a lovely place 😊you are amazing so love watching you and Helen 😊
When you travel/tour southern england, visit the Tank Museum at Bovington near Lulworth cove in Dorset. You will be impressed. The largest tank museum in the world. Well worth a visit.
I've been to Eden Camp a couple of times. Even 20 years ago it was fantastic, so I imagine it's even better today. Definitely worth a visit.

Amazing how few politicians and people that start wars don't end up affected by them or fighting in them....
@@graemepattersonpoliticians seem to benefit off the back of wars.
We’ve given away our inheritance. That’s for sure
Absolutely!
I went to Eden camp on a school trip in about 1995 maybe. I can still remember what the blitz room smells like 😂
Yes, that room blew me away too!
Changed so much since then just been today was brilliant
James, please believe me, you are are improving in leaps and bounds and your efforts are highly appreciated. Defintely my number one TH-camr! But please don't over do it though like so many others and burn yourself out. Thanks to you Maldon and the Eden camp are now a go to destination for me!

Thank you so much 😊
Excellent video, you’d have drove past Thomson’s fish and chips on your way to Eden, fantastic fish and chips 👍🏻😁
The ending little speech , was wonderful James you have so many friends here
Thank you :-)
Head to South Hams (South Devon).
I went to Sandhill Primary in Great Houghton, and I remember in year 5 going to Eden Camp. Looks like they’ve done it out since then. Great video

Hello there. So is it near Driffield. We used to go to a place near by Called Friday Thorp. We used to buy straw at a farm there.
James, I would highly recommend taking the hovercraft over from Southsea to ryde and spending the day on the Isle of Wight
The buses over there are really good .
Would recommend the chairlift at Alum Bay and the seafront walk between Shanklin and Sandown.None of it too expensive
Thanks, I'll look that up, sounds very interesting.
