Check out this Four wheel drive Ford 4000 four County at Torbay Steam Rally which can be seen dragging in the ploughing field, they were built between 1968 & 1975 this particular on is from 1972. It was county lighter option of 62hp so would have been a little handy 4x4 tractor back in its day.

McCormick B614 & IH ploughs
มุมมอง 5592 หลายเดือนก่อน
There was only 3,947 McCormick B614 built between 1963 & 1968 so it was very nice to see this exceptionally restored example ploughing at the 2024 Torbay steam rally with matching International 2 furrow reversible plough. The BD281 engine makes 62 Hp which is more than capable of pulling this plough even up hill.

4:42 , how could I find that seal? Whats the part number or name, or what store could I find it at?
I got mine from John at International parts. J.sambrook@vintagetractorparts.com (Email address) Not sure of the part number but it’s a B450 hydraulic piston seal he usually sends out an oring as well for the triangler cap. I ordered another recently for roadless however looks like maybe be on new stock as this one came blue and didn’t have a deeper groove so was a struggle to fit over the black one but did manage to fit it . Not sure anyone else will do them
@Ro33ie19 thank you for the answer, I'll get in contact with him right away, appreciate the response
As I’ve found out it will only stop the arms dropping when locked off if there’s any leaks down the line the arms will still drop if not locked off.
@@Ro33ie19 that is the problem I have with mine, the arms start going down slowly, took it apart and found its in rough shape, but I haven't had any luck on the tractor supply stores near me.
Terrible quality video!
Not just the ploughing then 🙈.
Clean old massi
Massey Ferguson 510 Combine th-cam.com/video/cQ3traFF3No/w-d-xo.html Bit more of it in action if you liked it with a bit of its background history.
Small farms feed the people and the animals
Nothing better than seeing old machines still doing what they were designed for and farmers still doing what they love. I love the old machines.

FANTASTICO
It’s a rare old camel.
Not a bother on it with the 4sod.An agricultural contractor in the 60s near me used two 1060s and two 4sod Ransomes and said both went ten years ploughing .He rated the Nuffield s and zetor Christals as his best tractors Even above international 674s and Ferguson's 188s ,We try em all against the nuffields he said ,Mind you they ploughed at about 8 mph in good loam soil
G day fro Canada R these the tractors that go pretty fasr? THs
Depends what you class as pretty fast this one does about 20mph gps speed
@@Ro33ie19 Yes compared to new ones it is not fast , but compared to old that is a fair speed. Yrs ago we had neighbour had allis wd, & olive supwe 77 they only went abut 1012 mph, with gas over here at 1.50/litre u don't want to be to long on road. Ths
It’s handy as Road to rally’s and ploughing matches so I cqn get about with it.
Start of the video is the back of Rarey Farm in Weaverthorpe - I was born there in 1972 and lived there until 1984.
Joe Bradshaw thought it was as well.
Will it ever ? Do local residents want it? A blast from the past and the talking still went on, A64 Dual carriageway & THE MALTON BY-PAS 20 October 1976-Lord TRANMIRE My Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question stands in my name on the Order Paper. Q-as follows ask Her Majesty's Government when it is proposed to construct the Malton by-pass on the A64. §Baroness STEDMAN My Lords, as soon as resource constraints on road expenditure permit. §Lord TRANMIRE My Lords, has the noble Baroness taken into account the fact that the three projected by-passes on the A64 are really one scheme? To go ahead with the York and Tadcaster by-passes and postpone the Malton one is going to make traffic congestion in Malton quite unmanageable and frustrate the Government's own policy of encouraging industrial development in the Scarborough, Whitby, Malton area. §Baroness STEDMAN My Lords, I accept what the noble Lord says, that the Malton by-pass is in effect part of one continuous scheme and that there will be problems and congestion; but because of the limited funds available other schemes in the national network have an even greater priority. §Lord POPPLEWELL My Lords, would my noble friend be able to give an assurance that when finance is again available this Malton by-pass will go ahead before expenditure on further motorways is embarked upon? Is my noble friend aware that this is a scheme that has been pressed for very many years? The traffic from the West Riding and the industrial traffic going to Whitby and Scarborough via this old market town, with its narrow streets, its crossroads in the centre where there are traffic lights, and then over the railway and river bridge, creates very difficult congestion, and there is a case for a first priority to be given as soon as finance is available. §Baroness STEDMAN My Lords, I thought I had made it clear in my original Answer that as soon as the resource constraints on road expenditure permit, this will be one of the schemes that will be carried out. 1273 §Lord MOWBRAY and STOURTON My Lords, has the Minister considered that one of the things that the country is being asked to do is to economise in fuel? If the Minister could see the build-up of traffic coming from the Leeds, Bradford, York area into Malton, especially during the summer months, she would see that the expenditure on the road might well be offset by the economy in fuel. §Baroness STEDMAN My Lords, my Department has looked at all the schemes. This scheme will cost about £6½ million. It was formerly due to start this month, and tenders had been invited when the July cuts came. Since the announcement of the deferment we have had made very plain to us by the local action groups, and all other people, the difficulties that will prevail if this part of the scheme is not able to be carried out. In the announcement of the deferment of the schemes my right honourable friend in another place said that this one was included, which meant that it was set back by one to two years, with an approximate starting date of 1978. But that, we hope, is a pessimistic date, and as the resources become available we hope to be able to speed up the start. §Lord DERWENT My Lords, may I say that if I ask any of your Lordships next year to come up and stay for a weekend, if you come by road you will not arrive until Monday morning? §Lady KINLOSS My Lords, could the Minister say whether the Government considered applying to the Regional Fund of the EEC for help on this by-pass? §Baroness STEDMAN My Lords, I have no information on that score. If the noble Lady would like to put down a Question I will get the information and let her know. §Lord GISBOROUGH My Lords, could the noble Baroness say in what year this Malton by-pass was first conceived? §Baroness STEDMAN My Lords, a long time ago. §Lord MOWBRAY and STOURTON 1929. 1274 §Baroness STEDMAN My Lords, it went into the trunk road preparation pool in February 1967. Presumably a lot of protest has been made from all sides since then, but it did go in the trunk road preparation pool in February 1967. We appreciate that there is a bottleneck, we appreciate all the problems to the commercial and holiday people, and we will do our best; but we must have the money first. §Lord BLYTON My Lords, is the Minister aware that the Conservative Party are always shouting for cuts in expenditure by the Government, yet they are now pleading for extra money to be spent. This is while they are shouting outside that the Labour Party are not making sufficient cuts in capital expenditure. §Baroness STEDMAN My Lords, I am grateful to my noble friend for his support. We have had to look at our priorities. Malton, regrettably, is not one of the highest priorities. We will do the job as soon as possible. Viscount ST. DAVIDS My Lords, is the noble Baroness aware that my head is positively stuffed with good ideas, all of which would greatly improve the country but many of which would cost a great deal of money? Is she also aware that I shall inflict none of them on her or any of her friends while the country is in its present state? §Baroness STEDMAN My Lords, a very laudable statement. §Lord TRANMIRE My Lords, will the noble Baroness realise that this scheme started 47 years ago, when it was costed at £100,000? Forty years ago it was accepted by the local highway authority at a cost of £200,000. It is really false economy to put off what must be done in a very short period of time. §Baroness STEDMAN My Lords, I cannot be held responsible for something which Governments before the one of which I am a member had an opportunity of doing. §Lord MOWBRAY and STOURTON My Lords, will the Minister take note of 1275 the fact and assure me that the Government are aware that a world shattering event has happened today? When the noble Lord, Lord Popplewell, has to ask the Government to do something like this about roads around Malton, matters must be very bad indeed.
What year is this? I think nipper was a crow. I don’t think he was a jacked door. Used to come to the Sand Hutton school all the time , at the weekend, he would follow somebody home and spend the weekend with them. The teacher teachers took him to. I think it was Dolby Forest and let him go. But he came back again , and then they did something else and he didn’t come back.
The year would be 2008/2009, fairly confident it was a Jack door, think it must be a different bird as it San Hutton is a good 15mile away as the crow flies pardon the pun.
@ 👍
I never stop saying it and it’s a quotation, it took me many many years to understand it, but no, I do now ,The past is a foreign country they do things differently there

Can’t wait to see which JPZ it is. I don’t think it’s a 750.
I’m rather poorly. I’m in my late 50s. It happened relatively quickly the acceleration the last 18 months into not being well as been fast. I’m looking back to the past more than ever and God knows I’ve spent a lot of time doing that anyway, but the past really does look a foreign country. We did things differently there.

Bratley as in weabs motors I believe it’s still on the go.
Just brilliant great I lived at claxton some people were centered around going to Moulton and some people were centered around going to York. We were York people a trip to Moulton was usually on the bus with me Mum and even as a kid, it felt old-fashioned with yellow plastic in the windows.
Just brilliant great
Cheers

Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it.
Just puring like a cat…meow…
Only a stop gap tractor, but turned out to be a real looker!! And if fitted with p6 was the icing on the cake!! 👍👍
Didn't realise that.
@ After the 2nd world war they could not afford to design a new tractor, so they jacked up a standard fordson and redesigned a new back axle for it with a centred pto. Petrol tvo was difficult to start so p6 made life a lot easyer🙂
One of the nicest sounding engines Perkins ever made👌
They do sound sweet.
Bought it brand new in 1965

Great action footage from start to finish! Great watch Robbie. Looks like a rally well worth a visit, some lovely engine there👍
Thanks for your continuing support, Great bunch of organisers with a very can do attitude of putting on a great show.
Ey Up, Settrington lass ‘ere and thank you for sharing. And Hello to John (Sally & I were friends at school 😊). Knew Bob, he lived on Setty highstreet and was always clearing the way when there was any snow. Obviously no school bus with that snow, but me Dad still made sure I went lol and there’s a school photo of the few of us made it. I need to watch this on me computer, but one has a look of my dad (flat cap & breeks?) near Bob and the snowplough. It was a well known tale. I will have a look in his diaries. Thank you for taking me back in time for a while, happy memories 😊
Glad you enjoyed it, I couldn’t believe how much snow there was when I first saw it.
Very, very nice and impressive video!
Cheers Paul
How wide were the rows back then ? The seem to use quite big wheels and spacing between wheels
Not sure if I’ve maybe digitised it in the wrong aspect ratios
Ford 4000 best sound ever 😎👍
Sounds well but no International 🫣
Friend of ours has a 4000 like that with a Duncan cab unusual machine
Lovely sight, but thank goodness for diesel and petrol
I wish that traction engines had nearly as much of a culture in the US
Thanks for posting.

Missed your comments on this one, still enjoyable thanks for sharing.
Doesnt look like the one at the back was doing much pushing

Very enjoyable video there mate! Well documented and put together!
Cheers Liam although I can’t take all the credit as Dangerous Brian gave me a lot of the history to off.
