I have been married to a mechanic and have struggled with the storage of his coveralls. Thanks for the directions. Works well for what I need!

THANK YOU! I have a couple pair of mechanic coveralls, so much bulkier than these. However, the process worked perfectly! Now I can store it in at least 2/3 of the space or more, than rolling them like we were doing. Heavy Carhartt coveralls into a 14 x 12 x 8 inch space ... AND they don't come unrolled, bonus :) Mine are quite a bit bulkier (Big Smith), still made it into a 14 x 14 x 12 inch! Thank you, thank you!

The purpose of folding you military clothing was for two purposes. One it was a form of psychological conditioning, to train you to follow procedure, two to make it easier to fit in your sea bag. When I attended Basic Training at RTC Orlando Naval Base in 1991, their was a slight difference on the method of folding our Navy military clothing. The method is similar to today Navy Basic Training, but a slight difference.

Why do people stop folding it that way? I mean once they get on their ship or even after the Military

Does every rate get issued Coveralls? I like the NWU's but I don't like the looks of the coveralls. Also when do you typically wear them?

+1337DragonX Everyone gets coveralls in boot camp. Specific rates wear them more than others and some examples of when you wear them would be fire fighting and working on machines. It is just easier to work in than NWU's

Alright thanks! Looks like I'm going to have to get used to them I'm going in under the Fireman Apprenticeship Program.

1337DragonX, you're more likely to wear them on ship than on shore. They are mostly only for underway and deployment working uniforms.
