I have the S41 and it's great. Paid roughly $500 CAD including headphones (came with the set), and portable battery pack. It's a great, durable phone. The only letdown is the camera. Not terrible but could be better.

Reminds me of when I dropped a rugby flip phone off a moving tractor and had the rear tractor tire go over it, front castors on an air drill, then came the air tank weighing a good 10 tonnes. Soft dirt though and the phone was untouched. That was truly a tank of a phone, always had something to throw if someone pissed you off lol.

I had a kyocera duraforce pro 2 for a while and that thing was tough as nails. Water, drops, mud, etc. It didn't care. I even accidentally dropped it under my trucks tire once and it came out with not a scratch. It had excellent speakers and a great camera too.

I bought a new $800 iPhone 8 Plus last year. 2 days later had chips in the screen, when my wife asked why I simply told her I needed a light when I was welding and apparently iPhone screens don’t like molten hot metal drops

But I have a huge inverter behind the seat of my truck and run a tiny 110 mig that fits behind my seat with all my tools for trail fixes and repairs on the road and this unfortunately was one of those times where I found myself in shorts and a t shirt in the mud trying to weld under my buddies truck

Broke my iPhone 8 three months later. Fell out of my hi vis vest while up a telephone pole. It landed on a small rock face down. Screen didn't shatter but shockwave went thru phone, shattered back glass & wrecked battery.

@@ytanonymity3585 yes. Then I spoke with other people who used the Sonim for work (mostly security companies, some federal agencies) and they confirmed the same nonsense. Add the terrible proprietary chargers that don't work if you are exposed to dust, and you have a major loser. An S4 with an otter box would be better.

Had a cat s60 worked good for the first year after that the speakers got quiet camera went from shit to complete shit software got slow phone would freeze all the time especially when wanting to take a call the ports on the side all fell of screen scratched fairly easily battery went for a shit and it had other software issues
I liked the extra programable button on the side the hard buttons on the bottom of the screen and the android operating system
I switched to an I phone with a real good case instead of another rugged phone was afraid to go with a sonim because of all the issues a buddy had on his phone and his replacements

Chiming in with my xp8... Stock camera app sucks. Can be remedied with Google's own pixel camera app can be found online just Google it, other than that this bastard last all day I have dropped it I have used it in a hot environments just a small Nick on the Rubber Edge , and I still get awesome battery life

My iPhone 7 fell 2 feet off of my lap onto my garage floor and broke the screen. I had a new screen put in my a CERTIFIED Asurion technician and apparently they use the shit Chinese screens because the color is garbage and you can see the LED’s behind it. Lesson learned. If your apple phone screen breaks, HAVE APPLE FIX IT!
