2:08 it’s a good idea to enable “sort save states into folders by content directory” otherwise if 2 games for different consoles have the same name, the save states will override one another. I was pretty far along Aladdin for Genesis when I decided to open Aladdin for SNES.. It was a bad day
Thanks TechDweeb, I was thinking of setting up some emulation on my android phone until I get a retro handheld. Thanks for keeping the retro goodness alive!
It's always great to see you upload. You were the reason I got my first graphics card back when you made a video about the t600 and now you're the reason I ordered my first retro handheld. Thank you for making videos
It's actually much easier for people who don't have money for a gaming system or computer, like me because I'm in and out of the hospital with a rare liver disease, to set up and play games.
Id enjoy a video on the Razer Edge. Only because theyre stupid cheap to buy these days. They were WAY overpriced at launch but now theyre approaching the $150-200 mark. I got mine on eBay for $140 and its an insane amount of power for that price. Its just a tablet with a Kishi controller slapped on it, but it failed so hard that theyve become a crazy good deal with some shopping. Anyway just a suggestion for anyone looking for a powerful Android device on the cheap.
Hate to sound like a smartass but have you shopped for just a used Vita? Vita's can be easily modded for retro emulation and have some of the best controls. It's like holding a fluffy cloud....with buttons. Otherwise yes Retroid makes good stuff.
@@OzymandiasWasRight i know but im living in argentina, used vita cost around 500 dollars...and buy one online and ship to arg cost double the original price :'c
@@ShadowFandub OMG! Yea no that's a ridiculous price. Emulation is 100% what you should do. Keep in mind Vita is one of the 'newer' consoles so some games are still hit/miss. Overall it's very playable with plenty of awesome titles. Pretty sure 'Vita3K' is currently the best emulator out. As for devices: RP5 and the Odin 2 will def get it done and probably the two best options (it's like TechDweeb knows what he's talking about or something!) The Razer Edge would be roughly as powerful but also super cheap! Be aware it's literally just a tablet with a Kishi controller slapped on, and its aspect ratio is a deal breaker for a lot of people (I LOVE mine but It REALLY is ugly). For even less money there's the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro and Anbernic RG556. For a ranking of emulation handhelds Google 'Emulation handhelds spreadsheet' on reddit. It's not perfect but it's a great resource that's updated regularly. AliExpress usually has the best prices, just make sure you're buying from a reputable store. Deals too good to be true usually aren't.
I'm an L3 Hotkey guy, which does get annoying a lot of times when I use the analog stick. Though, I wished more handhelds had M1 and M2 etc buttons a la odin 2.
I just bought two rp5's, one for me, and one for a less tech savvy friend. should I setup emulators on Android, or only Linux. my thoughts were Linux would be less intimidating then I could leave android for android games and media and music apps
I've been tinkering with my rg406v for like a month. Just about where I wanted it and the right stick failed. Sigh... Guess I get to start over with the replacement.
I bought a Kinhank X5 Pro with the 4TB drive and ES-DEdcant find my drive. Do I need to click okfor it to generate the folder structure, or has it already been done by Kinhank? Sorry to ask here but I know you've played with one before.
I love your video keep the good work. Long live retro handeld ! I got a question for the Community i juste dowload sudachi for to setup es-de on m'y phone and when i start a game the emulator close like 10 sec after the game botted. Does somme one have an Idea?
Sounds like a driver issue. Try searching to see if there is an updated driver for the CPU of your device (for example, the 'mesa turnip' drivers for snapdragon devices). You can install the custom driver in the sudachi settings.
@TechDweeb thx it help a lot, it stop crashing. I got a lot of difficulties to run Games on a good frame rate il do m'y research to set it correctly. I bought a Red magic 9spro to be able to play high en stuff too but I'm might be a lil impatient am already glad that I can play PS2 flawlessly. Anyway can't wait to see your next video! Il grab a root beer until then! XD
when ever people make these ''how to'' videos they never explain what a rom file is. it's always ''just put your rom files in there''. personally i know absolutely NOTHING when it comes to this all.
ROM files are the games. So if you take an NES cartridge and back it up, that backup is a ROM file. You can play the rom files in your emulators, so you're playing the game on devices that aren't original hardware. I can't tell you where to find rom files though (google can help you there).
Soooo. I have an early gen PSP that's like new including the battery and I want to use it as an emulation device. Anyone know an easy way I can do that considering I know nothing about doing that kind of stuff? 😅👍
Your videos are just the perfect mixture of entertainment and information. Thanks.

My weekend is incomplete without a TechDweeb video.
Thanks TechDweeb, I was thinking of setting up some emulation on my android phone until I get a retro handheld. Thanks for keeping the retro goodness alive!
Both vids great, as I await my RP5 to step up a bit. Not looking forward to installing everything, but that's what you are here for!
Razer Edge user here. Emulation is pretty awesome on this thing. Great video for those new to setting up on their device
There are dozens of us!
Amen brother! Found mine for $140 and they're one of the best deals out there right now.
We are small in number but strong in voice!
Just bought a MM+ and of course I have to use the Dweeb theme.

Haha, the good old T600 days. Feels like ancient history now!
Perfect timing! I got my 406V this past weekend 😁
Just getting into emulation after a long break from video gvames. All of this stuff is awesome! I just subscribed!!
Theres a r46s now
It's actually much easier for people who don't have money for a gaming system or computer, like me because I'm in and out of the hospital with a rare liver disease, to set up and play games.
Nice and fast tutorial! 🎉
Yay, a new techdweeb video 🎉❤
Great I expect a guide for windows also, with tips and tricks, shaders, advanced stuff, etc Thanks
Thanks for the quick guide

Thx little buddy. Appreciate the video 👊
dumb question but umm where do you find these handhelds to buy? im in South Africa and i only see the expensive Asus and other popular brands.
Litnxt has free worldwide shipping.
Hello Dweeb!
Does the naming of the ROM folders matter in your case?
Great guide! It *almost* thawed my cold, dark "Pffft. Linux is superior." heart. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got things to compile.
Good concentrated information. Watch while your coffee is brewing. Then, drink your coffee & set your device up😅
I really need fo give this knulli thing a go. Can you use the same rom sd with devices such as rg35xx sp?
Yay in fourth! Luv u dweeb! 😚
i need some help...best retro handheld for ps vita?
Probably the Odin 2, although the RP5 would be a good budget choice.
@@TechDweeb Thanks!

Hello can you do a guide for making custom path on emulation station for people who want to use internal and external storage.
2:06 how are you using select as a hot key and up and down for volume, I only have two thumbs
Hey DWEEB! I got Dweeb DOS running on a Super Console X running Emulelec 3.9 (It's an android tv box in it's little heart).
Lol. I played Doom.
rom files..
so you need to already have these games ?
“yes” 😂
shame there is no way of acquiring them even with a Google search of the terms gamename plus rom or even adding "archive"

What a friend! ❤😁👌🏻
I would say android tbh.
The screen of the rp mini on the thumbnail looks bigger than how it actually is
How do you get sudachi to show in es de ?

Read-Only Memory - it’s how the code for games were stored on a microchip on the cartridge.
I try to make sure I have an emulator for Java and Citra mmj2 for Wii ware
Does ES-DE work on an android phone? I have a spare phone with decent enough specs, so was hoping to turn it into a portable emulation machine.
Yes it works 🎉
Good video but felt very rushed. I'm sure you have a longer more detailed version of this video. If not you should.

Sudachi doesn't work on Retroid Mini, because of Android 10?
Try uzuy
Doesn't work either, I hope for a prompt release of A13.

What emulator for PS1???
Use the PCSX-Rearmed Retroarch core
Im teckdweeb welcome❤
Yay im first! Luv u dweeb
Cool
The only way to set up an Android device in 2 minutes is to throw it in the trash, pick up a Linux device, and start playing games and having fun.
You're not wrong!
😂😂😂
Add a computers cost to the mix.
Why do you sound like trumps love child 🤣
Thought this was a solution to get Android Emulation up and running in 2 minutes. Ended up being a speedrun 'tutorial' instead... downvote
