All it needs to fix this is a rubber o-ring under the metal locking ring to apply pressure to the socket. Such a simple thing but strange that it was missed in the design.
Well that's not good enough. The metal ring should hold the sockets on - that's the whole point of a hog ring - to keep the sockets on and allow the mechanic to easily swap sockets.
