Having the chance to interview and question a Superyacht owner was an absolute privilege. If it is one thing I truly love to do, its question and learn from those that have done incredibly well in life. Sit down and simply ask. How? Why? Should? Would? SO MANY QUESTIONS TO ASK. Hope you enjoyed the insight.

My first boat was bought with the help of Ms Lyra Holt Dean. Sailing is thousands of years old and we continue this long-lasting, intriguing and at the same time dangerous tradition! Throughout history sailing has helped various civilizations to develop and prosper as people sailed accross oceans to settle in new undiscovered areas. Each time we set a sail it’s as if you could feel the same excitement, uncertainty and craving for adventure as it used to be thousands of years ago. In a way sailing is like a bridge connecting us with times long lost.

    Hi Jared,
I enjoyed watching the video. Chris seems like a very down to earth guy. He was obviously given a leg up in life, but definitely appreciates everything he's been given and instead of settling for what he had has worked hard to maintain and grow his lifestyle. He really seems to appreciate not only his family and friends, but also the people that work for him. I see a lot of those same qualities in you. I see how far you have come in a short period of time. You have a strong work ethic and the respect you give to everyone around you whether a yacht owner or one of your viewers just starting out will serve you well. As Wilson Mizner said, "Be nice to people on the way up because you'll meet them on the way down".
I have no doubt I will be watching someone interviewing you someday to find out the secret of your success. Keep up the good work. Love ya brother.

Chris is a cool guy. It doesn't just apply to yachting but to all aspects of business that employers should value and appreciate the staff they employ and I try to do that in all of my busnesses.
We have had the same crew on our yacht for the last 5 years and they are on full time contracts where they are paid even out of season. So many other yachts struggle to keep good crew for extended periods. You cannot keep people on what amount to temporary contracts and expect them to remain on standby for you, they have lives of their own to live.

for people asking about the wine glass.
the wine glass is a self control device. A) it keeps him from being over expressive and exposing his position. B) the wine glass covers his genitals keeping him from feeling over exposed on camera.
5:50 to 7:00 answering the question about his inherited wealth made him extremely uncomfortable. double shoulder shrugs are a dead give away.
the constant right hand finger tapping during the reading of questions shows nervousness, as it is timed with the foot taps. Chris was anxious about the questions.

Chris recognising that you can work hard and still not be able to afford the finer things in life is what made this interview for me. Too often, people in his position look down on the less fortunate and bleat the old chestnut: "Work harder for it then".

What a great owner. I worked on small cruise ships as chief engineer. Superintendents from the office would be a nightmare. Arrogant and dismissive. When the owner came along, I would talk to him and explain things and he was down to earth and a great guy. I was told to not mess with the A/C by the Super, but managed to get permission from the owner to make a really needed change. Passengers complained constantly about A/C, but the Super had my hands tied. I solved the problem in a couple of hours with the backing of a good owner. I respect the chain of command, but not idiots.

I really respect the way this owner talks, besides knowing what he does for a living. If you didn't know he really comes off like a owner of a large construction company. The boss that grabs a hard hat and works with you to get a job done. I would work for him in a second under his paint business.

That is so true...” if you’re not working hard for your dreams, you’re working hard for someone else’s dreams”. Granted today it’s a little harder to have that kind of funds to afford a major yacht . This is being written during the Coronavirus so even if you have the personal or corporate funds I’m not so sure how politically correct it would be.
