To think Jerec, the first notable Miraluka, was actually deemed a blind human at first due to serendipity writing the plot of Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II.

@@V.B.Squire Good point, but I expect him to anticlimactically be a failed Inquisitor, or surprisingly, a Jedi loyalist who perishes in the Purges. Such are the variations of Multiverse Theory.

“Now I will have fewer distractions.” - mathematician, Leonhard Euler upon losing his eyesight around age 60. Despite what you’d think would be a massive setback, he became more productive than ever after losing his eyesight in the proceeding decades up to his death. With the help of a team of scribes to write his mathematical papers he ended up producing more really great mathematics than anyone ever in their lifetime and he is now considered the most prolific mathematician to have ever lived. He is one of those beings to know what it is like to lose one’s sight at some point in his life and he didn’t seem to be too adversely effected by it. At the same time as he was producing enough mathematics to fill a small library, he also had 13 children. Although many of his kids died before reaching adulthood, a few of his ancestors won Nobel prizes for work in chemistry, and in physiology and medicine. If you haven’t heard of Euler, and you like history, it’s well worth checking him out. He’s one of the greatest geniuses you’ve never heard of.

When you said their planet was isolated it made me think of how in the Star Wars galaxy, it seems to usually be better to live on an isolated system; as long as you don't get marked for the location of a secret military base or factory. Even though you lose a lot of wealth and economic power, you seem pretty safe from all the conflict that constantly fills the galaxy. Just do your best to avoid having any major corpo find a rare resource on your planet to exploit.

The Miraluka are one of my favorite Species in Star Wars (my main SWOTOR Character is a Male Miraluka Sith Inquisitor), I wish Legends had expanded on them even more. I give them a 7 out of 10 mainly due to Species like the Sith and Chiss having so much Lore about them, had we known even more about them i'd give them a 10.

Something that is simply amazing to me is that it is possible for the blind, via making clicking sounds with their tongue, to learn to echo locate as bats do. To be clear, I am not referring to a phenomenon in Star Wars, but from our real world. I will forever be in awe of a video in which a blind master of echo location is riding a bicycle through a park.

These species are unique as they don’t have eyes per say but vestigial eye sockets. Meaning where there should be eyes is just skin giving a hollow appearance. It’s why they wear some sort of covering over them so not to freak other beings out. Often dressed up traditionally or a simple wrap of some type. You can always know when one of these was in a room. Unfortunately they don’t exactly “see” in fine detail, they get a general sense of what’s happening and act accordingly. It’s a hindrance especially for those wanting to pilots or mechanics.

What will happened if a Geonosian and a Miraluka interacted with one another? One is from the hive-mind society that dislike anyone who did not pay homage to their Queens and the other one came from the society full of seers that despised those who are ignorance because of their own versions of blindness.

Considering their affinity with the force, I honestly didn't understand why we never saw any Miralukas in any of the movies or shows. Considering their physiology, they wouldn't have been an expensive species to show, being probably even less expensive than Vulcans on Star Trek.

The Jedi Order employed a ton of them for administrative roles within the temples. So much so that Order 66 can also be considered a ğ3n0c!ð3 against the species.

It still blows my mind that Order 66 wasn't just a purge against the Jedi, but also an outright ğ3n0c!ð3 against the Miraluka. Because there were a ton of Miraluka that aided the Jedi Order in noncombatant in many of their temples, almost to the point where it could be argued that having a job in the administration side of the Jedi Order was common.

They can see non-living things and inanimate objects such as droids and buildings because the Force resides in all things. But, due to non-living things not having much of a connection to the Force, they can't see them that well. As Geetsly said, those objects would be hazy to them.

@@jotheunissen9274 you are right in thinking that the Miraluka would have a disadvantage against a droid army that they wouldn't have against an army of living things. But given Geetsly's description of their unique Force connection granting them passive Force sight, with many Miraluka also having foresight capabilities, I am led to believe that they would have precognitive abilities either similar to the average Jedi, or surpassing that of the average Jedi. It is a Jedi's precognitive ability that allows them to block and deflect blaster bolts; perhaps the average Miraluka has enough precognitive ability to know where to not be if they want to avoid getting hit by blaster fire. And like the average Jedi, perhaps this precognition isn't always enough to save you from an army.
Perhaps precognition isn't the right word. But it's the closest word I've got so I'm gonna use it.

Jerec, the man who would have been God in Star Wars, had it not been for Kyle Katarn. All he needed was a very long time immersed in the power of The Valley of the Jedi and he would have been a being that far stronger than even Abeloth, The Father, The Son and the Daughter put together. And if you think im exaggerating go look up "Would have the Valley of the Jedi made Jerec more powerful than Palpatine?"
Kyle even alluded to the Galactic Empire being a thing of religious might and horror if it were completely reborn under Jerec fully acsended to apotheosis. It would have made Palpatine's Empire look tame and civilized by comparison.
