TBH, I personally didn't like the way they looked when finished, But I enjoyed the process very much. SUBBED! lol

Did you know people are allowed to hold the opinion that something is not appealing to them? To follow your example, You can appreciate how hard a chef works in the kitchen, and not like the taste of the dish he puts out.

My father just retired from being a cobbler for over 55 years. This reminded me of being a boy and sitting there watching him tear shoes apart and putting them back together all over again. Thank you for the memories and great job :)

You should try using a rubber clobber hammer. Just to be safe, to not damage the shoe. 👍
Gotta say, I do like the original look better, but they both look good. Doesn't mean I don't appreciate the skill involved! Nice work! I'll bet the newer version is a lot more comfortable, they look more comfy!
Same here! Definitely a superior sole and great craftsmanship, but the original one looked way cleaner.
