great story. i am 52, black and I have been spending time in Europe for 27 years. I feel no stress when I am there. Whenever I return to Chicago, I am instantly on guard. Good job!
That’s something I just could no longer do. Admittedly, it was more so my KIDS wouldn’t have to have that “on guard” type of lifestyle, but after living here, I can see that even in my childhood, I yearned for a better way. I just knew nothing different. Thanks for rewatching and thanks for commenting. 👍🏾

I moved from the US to Europe 15 years ago. Although our experience of life in America was surely different, we lived with many worries about what could impact our well being. Not so much now … it just feels more civilised to have healthcare, to not worry about a violent tenor of life. Civilised is a word I use frequently to describe where we now live. Not perfect, but civilised.
I think thats the perfect word to describe our lifestyles. As you said, by no means perfect, but definitely more civilized.👌🏾 Where are you from in the US? And where do you live now?
I lived mainly in Boston but spent five years in Arizona before we moved to Dublin for work in 2009. We left to assure healthcare for a handicapped family member who could no longer get health insurance (before the ACA). We moved to Nice for retirement. Where do you call home now ?
You are a great storyteller. And you know how to edit a video. I enjoyed it very much. Interesting to see that the locations you filmed and the things you appreciated are nearly the same things I love when I travel. I love visiting old towns and enjoy these little "Gässchen"(Gangways).
In relation to these very tight allies in Zurich (at the end of your very nice video): these were made a few hundred years ago for people’s garbage. At the time there were no doors leading to them just windows. So people would throw their garbage out of the window into these alleys where pigs would eat them…. Must have smelled lovely 😂
I wonder how your experiences in the USA have influenced your views on what you see now in your life here. What would have your self at age 20 said if you would explain yourself what you are experiencing? And how would you describe yourself of the past what your life now is like?
Greetings from a European! I'm very happy you're able to enjoy our, and also now your, continent! I don't know how life is in the States, but media has heavily demonized everything across the big pond. So I hope you're adapting well and I wish you the best!

Thanks so much, Wiggly! So yes, I pretty much just vlog/create videos on whatever I want to, now. It makes me feel good so this works for me. I appreciate your watching and commenting, as well. So you might have noticed that I've never mentioned a wife. This is because I don't have one. But yes, I will protect my children's privacy as long as I can. Thanks for recognizing this. By the way, sorry I am just now getting to your comment. Apparently it was blocked by YT. But I have allowed it, now.
You've come a long way, both in environment and mentality. It would've been too easy to come to Europe and keep the same thought process you had back in the US. I think it would've made you miserable though. Letting go of things in order to appreciate the experience is good for the soul. We are fortunate to live in a place that allows us to have the time to appreciate being able to live a good life. 🫡🇩🇪

Just beautiful and also a little reminder for us, Europeans, who forget it sometimes
Thank you, katrin.🙂
I’m happy to offer a pleasant reminder to you.
Thanks for watching.
I can relate to that. The little things make all the difference.
Definitely.
Such beautiful content. It’s probably the best ad for living n an open Europe I have ever seen. Thank you mate.
Oh wow. That’s nice of you to say. 🫣😅
Thank you.

Just beautiful. 😃🍻🌞🎉✌
