    I have a question. I have a black Seiko 6139-6012 (or atleast that's what I think it is). Because the caseback displays 6139-6002 - 389823 JAPAN-J. My grandfather had this for as long as I can remember. And in the caseback it shows it has been serviced twice. Do you think that it would be a 6002 with an error in manufacturing or someone has changed the case (which doesnt make sense to put a more valuable case back on a 6012.

      That’s really interesting. It’s hard to imagine that Seiko would mess that up in production. It’s not hard to imagine that a watchmaker at some point had a few seikos on their bench and accidentally picked up the wrong case back and put it on your grandfather’s watch. None of these were considered valuable until the very recent past, so it’s not inconceivable that it was just a mistake.
