You have the serif dial on the VERY early 6139's , including the pogues. The speedtimer text also varies in length compared to the above Seiko text.

I know this video is old but I'd thought that I would add that from what I have read, Seiko used AD to denote "Applied Dial" or "Applique Dial" and they also used SD to denote "Special Dial" which I believe were 14K or 18K gold plated.

You have got to look inside, christ I love these little teasers but that's a must! Let us know bro.

I would love to know the answer. That is so bizarre. To go through that much work making it look so perfect and exact, then randomly changing the font? Seems like a crazy misstep. Either way, great looking watch!

Dial is legit...I think. What is the build date on this one? I have a 6139-6000 Speed-Timer that is nearly NOS. It has 'the serifs'. Build date is June, 1969. An auction for a JDM 6139-6010 also just ended on Yahoo Japan. Build date was May, 1969. It had 'serifs' as well.

Dial IS legitimate, yes. After putting up this video I had no fewer than three people send me shots of their originals pieces with this same dial variant. The printing was way too perfect to be a fake, the serifs really threw me, but it is real.
