Blumhouse has become like an abusive partner and the first red flag was H Ends....

It's wild because Wyatt Russel is a really good actor and he's good at being an intimidating person - just look to "Overlord" to see that. The script and director must have just been absolutely awful

It wouldn’t be so bad if most Blumhouse films didn’t feel like a cash grabs most of the time, but this film feels no different. There was no need for this film at all. Like, the horror genre would be perfectly fine without it. Thanks for taking on for the team here, Mike, lol. It’s so sad that we are in 2024 & we are still saying that most horror films feel soulless & empty.

You’re totally right. Imo the first & most important motivation for making a movie should be that they have an interesting story they want to tell but unfortunately it seems as though they’re only motivation now is money.
I understand it’s ultimately a business but money shouldn’t be the ONLY goddamn reason because then what starts to happen is what’s happening now, the audience stops trusting you & guess what?? After they’ve been bamboozled a few times in a row they eventually say F this & they stop going to the theater to see their shit movies.
I don’t understand why this concept seems so hard for Hollywood to grasp 🤦🏻♀️

At the end of the day, when I see a film from any genre, I want to feel passion &originality. I want to feel like the people working on the film cared about the project being made. What these companies have to understand is that the audience is not stupid. The audience knows whether or not there was an effort being put forth in set film. We are not dumb. Movies like this really makes me wonder how these films were made & given the green light to be released.
Gosh, I hate being this negative, but some films deserve it. 😂

It pisses me off too & I’m sick of it.
Most of Hollywood is guilty of it but with Blumhouse in particular, they literally don’t give af because they make their shit movies for so cheap, they’re like “ah f**k it, we’re guaranteed to make profit”.
Honestly I think the only way they’ll stop this bs is for everyone to stop giving them their money. If they start actually losing money you can bet they’ll reassess & change their shit model.
Audiences have to demand better & the only way we can make them listen is with our dollar.
This “movie” reminds me of the American Dad episode about the killer hot tub that was voiced by CeLo Green lol

I just went to the theater to go see this. Within 5 min the movie broke and they couldn’t get it working and offered a refund. Lol. I guess that was a good thing.
And that’s how I stumbled across this video. I’m sure this video was more entertaining than the movie. Never look back! 😂

Blum house sucks. I’ll never forgive them for what they did to Halloween. It caused me to check out Rob Zombies films and realized they’re really scary and brutal. I no longer hate RZH2. I pray Jason never gets ahold of Elm St or Friday.

I just got back home from the theatre.....
Empty....Soulless.....MASSIVE TURD. This film did a fantastic job making a very fun trailer but (spoiler alert!!!!), it was incredibly misleading. Looked like a 7-8 outta 10 Horror-movie but.......Definitely NOT how I wanted to start my 2024 in the theatre. Then again, I can’t be selfish, 2023 was INCREDIBLE for film and movie theatres. A concept centered around a haunted pool would always be a challenging task for a movie, and ‘Nightswim’ is proof of that. While it’s made competently enough, it’s so tepid and mundane that you almost zone out many times. There are hardly any real scares or thrills, and the movie struggles to maintain any kind of tension, despite the cast trying their best to keep some interest alive. It has a very direct-to-video feel as well, as the movie does the bare minimum without going for the jugular and providing an unhinged, bonkers experience. 2.4/10 ⭐️ #nightswim 🚨 EDIT: the special effects and “monsters” were the worst IV ever seen in a longggggg time!!!!!! 🚨

This is sad... One of my anticipated movies of the New Year. Well, I'm honestly not too surprised. Movies, nowadays, tend to strike out more than they hit home runs. When I saw the trailer for Night Swim, I was honestly wanting demonic entities in the pool - creatures with an art design similar to We Are Still Here or The Fog (original).
When you talked about the ending, I had honestly thought of a few that would be better than that. In my choice ending - mind you I have not seen the film - I would have ended it with the "possessed" father trying to pull his family down, into the depths to drown them. The mother saves her kid(s) from the dad, kicking him in the face to get away. And as the mother pulls her kid(s) to safety, they look back to the pool to see the "possessed" father standing on the floor of the pool, just staring straight up at them in a creepy, make-your-skin-crawl type of way. The pool lights do their thing and flicker until they suddenly go out and the pool is just completely blacked out. The scene dissolves into the next day where the mother gives an exposition dialogue about how "the pool gets what it wants..." Then we see the concrete truck filling up the pool to seal it off. And just as the film is about to end, we do a slow zoom on the pool's vacuum port where we hear a hushed whisper say, "baseball stuff..."

I like Wyatt Russell but oh my God was he bad in this. His obsession with the pool became more hilarious than unsettling. He literally used visions of the pool to hit a ball better!! 🤣🤣🤣 The line deliveries were so unintentionally hilarious.

Towards the end when they pull the son outta the pool and Wyatt Russell is overcoming his possession, when he finally comes out of it and sees the son and says "Is he okay"? I cracked up cause his delivery was so derpy. It legit reminded me of the way you or J would've said the line mockingly 😂
Why wyatt Russell chose to be in this is beyond me haha

I interpreted the monster as a swamp monster which is why it looked like that… but maybe that’s giving them too much credit. I wish they had spent more time on the lore of the pool monster and actually trying to keep it consistent instead of the jump scares
