      Sounds like its comming along. Once the inside is looking good you tend to forget how bad the outside may or may not look. Atleast that's how I am. Mine has looked horrible outside for almost a year. Inside is super comfy. This year things are starting to look better outside.

    Where did you get the black carpet and door panels from been wanting some for awhile now and I was afraid I might have to fabricate my own

    • @thisoldhooptie
      @thisoldhooptie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used duplicolor vinyl and fabric flat black spray cans to dye the floor and back panel carpets. The door panels are from Coverlay. Google c1500 coverlay door panels and see who has the best prices. Back when I got these I paid $100 less this way. There are multiple options for fabric and colors too. There should be an older video in my truck playlist for the door panels and the duplicolor carpet color swap.

    • @thisoldhooptie
      @thisoldhooptie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I was mistaken, I used the dulicolor vinyl and fabric gloss black on the carpets. I used the flat black on the trim pieces.

    I'm presently trying to redo my garage too. I probably would have been done if people didn't lie about help on certain things. 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️😡 But I'm kinda on the fence about the floor. What are you doing for yours? I thought about epoxy, but the DIY kits I've heard are not as good as the professional ones. I have a couple of ideas, but I want something that can be done in a day..

    • @thisoldhooptie
      @thisoldhooptie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As you can see I have not gotten to mine either :)
      As for materials, I have used the rustoleum box kits with flakes from home depot many time in the past. The only way to get them to last is to really go all in on the prep. Rent the concrete sand/scuff tools needed to really etch and clean the surface. If the surface is not holding moisture and is nice and scuffed the ones I did lasted many years. The only damage was from scratches over time. With the low cost you can coat twice over ten years and still be on the cheaper side. If you want something that really lasts, the really thick pro epoxie ones are the way to go. However be prepared to shell out a few thousand in materials depending on your sqf. My opinion and what I plan on doing is solid prep then then get the rustoleum kits needed or something equivalent. I may get a thick epoxie setup if its around $1000ish for all material. Ill figure that out after in done painting the trucks. I have 800sqf should be around $800 in rustoleum packs thats hard to turn down. Just my 2 cents. Let me know what you end up doing.

      That sounds good. I'm really on the fence about what to do. I am aware what the pros would charge. I've never done anything like that before. So I think that maybe one reason why I'm a little apprehensive about it. Also a perfectionist. 🤦‍♂️🙄 So I want it right the first time if I do it. I'm looking into all options right now. I've even looked at the racelike flooring with the connect grate like flooring..🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️I don't know..🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

    • @thisoldhooptie
      @thisoldhooptie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tottaly with you. If you don't mind spending a few extra bucks and want the best find a company like spartanepoxie that sells the materials and get a 12mil coating with flake and clear coat. That type is popular in my state in the higher end home garages. Its way thicker and holds up to abuse. In my opinion it comes down to how much do you want to spend. Both look nice when finished. The prep is the same either way. Does take 2 days to bang out a 2 car garage though.

    • @thisoldhooptie
      @thisoldhooptie  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Almost perfect. The only issue i had was the passenger side speaker had to be tweaked to fit low enough. The issue was easily fixed with a heat gun and large socket. Dropped the plastic 1/4 inch then the speaker sat right.

      So I eneded up using a local company to refurbish them for me. They came out great. Ill be reinstalling them after paint. I can give you the company info if you want it. Not sure how much shipping would up the price. It was under $100 to replace the inserts and recover them in my provided fabric.

      @thisoldhooptie  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have been talking about that daily. Thats going to be driven by my son he is 15 now so I have a year to get it done. I want it slammed with coil overs so it has less chance of rolling. I lifted because we used to have bad drainage in my city and wanted something high to drive out of the neighborhood. That problem has been fixed so I'm leaning toward it. I have a small water leak to fix then I can get the interior back in it. Shoukd be fun.

  • @davidpoehler3478

    your glue can dripped because you shook it the whole time. try long smooth passes overlapping by 50% and it will not drip.

    • @thisoldhooptie
      @thisoldhooptie  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the tip, could be. I was told the first can was defective it came pouring out from under the cap all around the bottle soon as I started spraying it. I cut most out due to the cursing 🤬 The second cans worked great though no drips. Long passes with 50 percent overlap does do the trick. Headliner came out perfect in the end
