you might want to check out the air flow to the burners. They should be burning blue and not yellow flames. JS

I believe the “stainless steel” in the description, is referring to the stand, not the griddle itself. The griddle itself is cold rolled steel.
And that's correct. Description says "carbon steel top". It defeats whole purpose, it is the griddle part itself that always rusts

I would not worry to much about the seasoning. The more you use it the more seasoning will get on the griddle. Just remember not to use any medal scraper to clean the griddle and no soap the will take the seasoning off. A bamboo brush or wok brush is best to clean the surface. Get it warm and use hot water to clean the surface. A hot griddle with cold water will shock the griddle and remove some to the seasoning. Just keep enjoying the Blackstone and the more you use it the blacker it will get. Chef Jerry
Brisket looked great. Enjoy the Blackstone. Just got mine 3 weeks ago and just got a chance to cook on it this past weekend. Food was fantastic and it was so much fun to cook on.

It seems that Blackstone (in the USA) does not sell this griddle anymore, probably because stainless stands and griddles (not the cook top) will never need to be replaced, and they probably don't want that.
You missed the part about, how to season your blackstone cook top.
Instead of using waxed paper under the steak weight, try just setting the weight flat on the griddle at the beginning. It's a great way to put a light sear on the tops of the burgers and it won't stick, it'll also work to keep the bacon from curling up...

I paid $150 for mine, it came in a box and had 2 dents on it that we noticed once put together. We called up and they gave us 50 percent off 300 bucks due to the dents so i figure 150 is pretty good and i will laugh every time i look at those little baby dents lol. I love it.......it looks awesome and i bought a hard cover for it too with handles. I hate the drip edge so i gotta buy a hack for it. It seasoned easy but cleaning sucks due to the small channel for the grease. Oh well its much funner to cook on this than a bbq.....
For anyone wondering why the ignition button wasn’t working properly in this video, I think I have an idea. My friend bought a smoker from another company with the same style ignition and had the same issue. We realized that the metal plate that holds the spring wasn’t glued properly to the inside of the rubber button (think where your thumb pushes up against) so the metal plate would continue to make contact with the battery even after the rubber button was no longer being pushed. If the metal plate holding the spring was glued to the inside of the rubber button properly, the metal plate would retract and not make contact with the battery. Random comment but I’m sure it will help someone out.

I thought the stainless steel one is a cooktop that is stainless steel,but it looks like it is just the stand...we have a 28in one but not the stainless steel. I really like it but was hoping to find one that has the cooktop that won't rust

Did that grease pan come with? I think they got a different design on the current model but this one right here that you got never seen pictures with that grease can. Always wondered why they never showed this design with one attached
If you only cooked that brisket to 165º, it was way too tough. Take it to 200º to 210º and cut it pencil thin and it should drape over your finger but pull apart with a very light pull. And that top is not stainless steel. You need to reseason that top and get it ALL as black as those 4 dots for a proper season. I will refrain from the "bad boy" comments, because it seems you like saying that phrase.
can you replace the griddle top with the newer one that has rear grease catcher and can you add the wrap-around shelf on the rear grease one catcher ,,,anyone?

damn, i could've got mine for $100.00 on 4th of July weekend, but i don't have a house to fit in? Damn good deal, so i got the 17' black, back drip version for $35.00. But i will always wish i could have a spot for a 36'. Always take advantage of holiday sales. Walmart has them all the time. Just got to be patient.

Future tips brother, take that iron press and have those on the grill before hand. Let those presses get hot and it’ll work great, no wax paper. Also don’t smash the patties, if you want them thin then hand patty them before placing onto the grill, then rest the hot press on top, don’t apply pressure to the press, let its weight do the work. Also those patties should sizzle immediately when applied so make sure the grill is at 400 F

Appears you failed to season it properly before cooking. Not sure if an accident or intentionally. Proper first seasoning will turn it black.
I'd cancel and spend the extra on a better grill top.

It's to cook from the top , as the top is heating up set it on the griddle and let it get screaming hot and then set it on top of the patty and let it cook
