Interesting approach to the list, bravo for thinking for yourself on deck choices. I'll definitely try this one out after I try the diva heavy version.
Love the mini history lesson. Awesome profile dude. I’m considering siding crossout and one shifter to be able to stop myself from being hit by shifter. It shuts down the deck pretty hard
Thank you for the kind words! I'm not a huge fan of crossout, I'd rather have something more generic to counteract shifter such as a turn skip. Dimensional Barrier is an option for tenpai. There are also plenty of handtraps to open or rhine>coelacanth for toad
Actually on second thought, you may be right. Crossout could be a good include in the side. I'm already considering additional copies of Deep Sea Minstrel to beat handtraps, as they also trigger your water effects, but crossout might be a similar include. With mained Fulwaros and Purulia as Nibiru, even paired, is often still mediocre against Yubel and Snake going 2nd. I will do more testing and post an update on the channel if I deem it necessary!
@@FrozenCardGaming Yeah going 2nd can be hard for Mermails, but going first crossout and called by are probably the best counters for shifter. Can’t wait to see updates on your deck, maybe even theories with the new cards coming in SUDA
Great vid. Gonna try this out for sure. Would love a test hand and more combo vids! What are your thoughts on the icejade lvl 7 monster and the ice barrier lvl 10 synchro?
There are DB replays in the description of this video! Icejade is a worse teus and making a lvl 10 synchro off of it doesn't add much to the deck. I considered the ice barrier synchro but I didn't want to play more bricks in the main deck, ie ice barrier floodgate monsters.
@@FrozenCardGaming lool clueless its the otherway around icejade ran is better then mermail abyssteus. For example under droll or d shifter you can still play icejade ran its an instant lv10 water synchro also short combo string so mulcharmy lets you draw only one. Mermail abyssteus cant do this and if you wanne really make use of the mermail engine I see peeps are likely to add bricks as well. For icebarrier you only need 1 brick and have a much better end board. The only thing teus has going for it since the new support is that it can also help you start off a long combo string. I think running more shrine and squad is better. Both offer something different for the deck i think both should be run.
i fully agree with everything expect the nibiru - for example against azamina u want to dominus the spell b4 they doing 5th summon (omni negate) - if u want to have a discussion let me know - very nice deck list - subscribed ur channel 🙂
yeap funny how people claim their own video about their deck is the BEST way to play when theres so much wrong at the same time with their deck profile. (could be worse though all in all its okay deck profile) like run levirtue dragon, handrip with trish, more minstrel, better ways to deal with droll and lock birds, new max X and d shifter. I got all those answers in my deck.
Have you thought about small world? you can pretty easily get from most waters to most waters and via some hts as well. Seems kinda like a nice idea especially if you view nept as a pseudo circular.
I considered it since it's very easy to find small world lines in this deck. However, the deck is already very consistent and I'd rather open real engine cards rather than trading one engine piece for another.
Also to add to that: I think if you really want to add more consistency you would first go with Eria channeler than small world. Much more synergistic overall
Usually I swap out non engine for other non engine, say if Nibiru isn’t great against their deck. Going 2nd you can also take out coelacanth seeing as you likely won't have a handtrap to freely discard and then I would also take out 1-2 pikes. As you don't need 3 in the deck anymore. Since you are drawing to 6, coupled with Mulcharmy draws, it mitigates the reduction in starters.
Good video, I just noticed your videos end pretty abruptly tho! Just a few ending words or even a generic subscribe to the channel and leave a like would be a smooth outro for the video
I think playing LeVirtue Dragon over Crocodragon is the better play since you're left with a level 3 to sync into Chengying and you can proc Chengying at any time with Abyssrhine or Virtue Stream GY effects.
@@thecorbeauxking7342 It is a fine card if you go first, but a poor card if you go second as it is not a board breaker. For what it's worth there are several decks that side extra deck + searchables like Silhouatte rabbit, and levirtue dragon can be used in the same way.
@@FrozenCardGaming that is the misconception you can run levirtue dragon with great benefits without running virtue stream. if you dont know what the combos are I could show you in my upcoming video.
@@thecorbeauxking7342 and even if someone decided to run the trap you can discard it for r7 poseidra or squad and have a GY effect from virtue stream left. I still think that doesnt outweight running it but hej for those that do its often overlooked and good to be aware off.
He doesn't play Abyssmegalo so he can only search one spell with King Neptabyss. I think in this build and considering he runs 15 handtraps and 2 spells it can become a brick.
Would you still go for this line (except the link 4 I guess) if you get fuwalossed? Your opponent will be at 9 cards in hand if I counted correctly and you will have 6 in hand + at least 5 disruptions. Do you think it's worth to deviate in these instances and if so how?
If my opponent uses Fuwalos I give them 0-1 cards and pass on moulinglacia, often accompanied by a neptabyss and teus, depending on my opening hand. Backed up by 1-2 non engine hopefully. I also have ash, called by and either thrust/crossout post side to negate fuwalos or turn skip them back depending on which deck I'm playing against.
@@FrozenCardGaming Interesting take. What do you think of ghost sistering them back as a guarantee to get another turn and simplyfing your neptabyass combo by ending on Bahamut + Toad + Moulin, effectively giving your opponent a -1 and having Toad + abyshire setup for follow up and interruptions while making sure that Ghost sister buys you a turn? One advantage I would see here is that 1x ghost sister in main game 1 should make it so you win most of your game 1 against tenpai
Against ghost sister they will still play and having 1-3 additional draw phases doesn't really matter when they end of enough disruptions to counter all of your cards in my experience. You could also make dweller, depending on the opening hand just to trigger dragoons and get heavy infantry for rhine. This usually gives them 2 draws, which might still be worth it depending on the matchup, like snake eye variants for example.
You can cut the Mulcharmies for other non engine for sure! However, you cannot cut Abyssgaios as it is needed for many combos by overlaying Squad+another monster and then ranking up into Poseidra
If the goal is to be able to push through hand traps as much as possible why not run any tidal? Tidal and stream both help you keep playing through hand traps and push damage next turn.
If a deck has to play runick cards to be viable, it's a bad deck. Runicks are a crutch for going 1st and forces your deck to be built inoptimally, as they are naturally weak at going 2nd.
The point is that when you’re doing this you’re committing a lot of main deck slots to Rhine and dragoons and you’re basically going to play a weaker version of Atlantean Mermail instead of the control that Umi wants to play Big Kairyu shin fan here, I’m gonna try it but that’s my thought
Its target protection, we got that in mermail king link monster but when this meta is over and another arises where more target protection is warranted. we will see more play of citadel whale. ordered them right away when I saw the new support being released couple of months ago. its not omni negate :-] cute
The problem with mulcharming them back is that now its their turn and you are wide open for being OTK'd. so you need to run a lot of handtraps while mermal atlantean works best with boardbreaking and in engine solutions. also this build will lose a hard to a couple of key handtraps this meta. watch my videos and discover the solutions. also for the love of god play 3x minstrel.
