Great stuff. Thank you. The pyramid of self reminds me of the Johari window, which is a 2x2 of what’s known to us, what’s known to others. Howe have some things that are known to others but not self (blind spots) or things that are known to self but never seen by others (secrets). It goes deeper than that but is a great tool.
Wow. Life changing advice from one video! I’m inspired and grateful that I saw your post on Instagram. Can’t wait to see your short (The Other Side). I’ve been on over 3,500 auditions. Staying positive and keeping the faith. I’ll never give up! Thank you!
Hans - when you do "tethering" is it always about how YOU are feeling or is it ever about what you want to do to the OTHER person in the scene? Thanks!
For tethering it’s just a tool I use to help me connect my personal story with the story of the character. The goal is that I find a shared connection with the character so our stories become one.
@@the_working_actor ok so it sounds like it's more about how YOU are connected personally to the story vs. what you want to do to that other person. Perhaps when you do your scene anslysis you think of what you want the other person to do or feel? Alot of teachers say we have to have an action verb for each sentence ie I want to crucify, to adore, to blah blah blah. Do you teach that? For me I find that a bit too much and too planned. I like to have some uncertainty just like real life!
