Steve Lukather has achieved a level of success that is simply unimaginable for 99.999% of people who even tried to learn to play any instrument. Even with his worldwide success and the countless millions of dollars he has made, he is one of the most grounded, pleasant, and humble human beings in the business. Steve has always been a very approachable, well-spoken and highly respectable class act with a work ethic that is absolutely second to none anywhere. There are just not very many people left in this world like Steve and we can all learn a lot from his approach and work ethic.

Steve really let his soul shine through in his guitar playing when it comes to his taking his time and letting his impeccable phrasing and vibrato guide the ship. No wasted notes ,but turning on the jets only when the song or solo would be enhanced by it. And his songwriting and vocals are top on this new one as well. Definitely check it out Kenny. 😊

I was lucky enough to catch the end of this era, in the studios of Chicago in the early 1980’s.
Chicago Trax, Chicago Recording Company, Streeterville, Universal, Paragon, Studio Media, Tanglewood, even the great Soto Sound…
Constant work. Learning to sleep on a control room couch with the mains blaring! 😄
    What a time!!!
It was like being in heaven.

Any due royalties that’s coming to him or that he fights for is WELL DESERVED in my eyes. He’s humble about it too. Like Joe Perry once said: “those songs are your babies…and people come in to cut and maim and ultimately take them away from you….and it hurts.” I heard that in some interview years back and never forgotten that statement. I’m sure Luk can relate to it. Thanks Kenny for netting Luk and dragging him in for the hang. It’s always interesting with Luk in the room.
