Huawei Eyewear 2 | Smart glasses...but smart enough?

- Unboxing the Huawei Eyewear 2, with a short review of these smart glasses - which are more like face furniture melded with wireless headphones. The Huawei Eyewear 2 are hitting the UK soon along with the Gentle Monster sunglasses, here's my verdict and let us know your thoughts below!
Grab the ‘Browline’ model and you'll enjoy a polished titanium frame that weighs a gnat’s ballbag under 5g, while the 'Rectangle' version here uses a thick, plastic semi-frame. If you wear glasses normally, you can take the Huawei Eyewear 2 to your opticians to get prescription lenses fitted. And they're IP54 splash and dust resistant.
These smart glasses support Android, iOS and Windows - and you can connect the Huawei Eyewear 2 to two devices at once and switch between them on the fly.
They boast an ‘open acoustic design’ - in other words, that audio is spaffed at your ears by speakers, to keep you aware of your surroundings. The Huawei Eyewear 2 speakers are louder with decent stereo output, although audiophiles should stick with headphones.
You've also got full touch controls and assistant support on these smart glasses. And Huawei has added dual built-in mics as well, for chatting on the move. As for battery life, expect just over ten hours of audio action from a full charge of the Huawei Eyewear 2.

As truck driver who wear glasses anyway, this is great, as I don't have to keep buds in my wear everyday whole day and I don't need notifications or things like that flying in front of my eyes while driving

Ye, I think this pair only seems to be useful for people who already wear glasses
I currently wear the Ray Ban meta and they seem the same in functionality. The advantage of the this is pairing dual devices. I wear classes all day and this will replace my AirPods and other ear pods.

Great for those who don't want to stuff earbuds for music and calls. Buds are not discreet enough and too over the top for many.

The term smart gets abused. I had the previous model.
They cant even dynamically adjust their volume based on ambient noise to ensure no sound leakage you have to remember to lower your volume in quieter environments manually.
They are useful in a pinch if you want to listen or watch something but cant have your bluetooth earbuds on but the rather meh battery life sabotages that use. These should be designed to over 9 hours of battery life so you can wear them for a complete work shift with listening sessions here and there without them dying on you, maybe these new ones will be better i hear they bumped up the battery.
App is bare bones. The case cant even charge the glasses that for me is a grievious oversight seeing how the meta smart glasses actually have a charge case.
Build quality feels abit cheap tbh.
They are not terrible just know what you are buying, basically a pair of bluetooth speakers attached to a pair of glasses. Better to get the xreal air or viture if the cable doesnt bother you, they have speakers and you can actually watch content

I can't see how these can be referred to as "smart glassess" if they do not have a display, these are glasses with head phones. They seem really pointless to me. Well done Chris for even attempting this video. Smart chocolate teapot next eh!

What is the point of this? Until I have a local LLM virtual waifu assistant on a HUD and always on 24/7 recording and indexing of everything I interact with and do what even is the point?
I am thinking of office work with phone calls for those who are wearing glasses anyway. Or for biking in the city.

Huawei is lucky Google hasn't blocked installation of their apps on Android yet.😅😅😅
Unfortunately they have blocked many apps. One can use the internet for TH-cam but maps etc is only possible through a third party app or APK. If one allows a third party app to open Google apps one is limited to what they offer. Luckily Huawei have many good apps on offer equal to or better than Google. Also while Google could, I supposed, block all their apps it would not make sense for Google as their ad revenue would suffer dramatically.
I have a Huawei tablet and a Huawei phone. I also have a Google Android phone which I use solely for appearance sake. To stop strangers wanting to admire my Huawei etc.
I do not know why I associated these glasses with Dr Strangelove but maybe it was my imagination of these with sunglasses in them or the look of them coming from a remote era. Well but smart glases without HUD oder a camera are not that smart and they even do not make you become Dr Strangelove, so they do not make sense at all for me, so I prefer some beautyful Headphones over this stuff. So the're just some regular glasses with small speakers in the arms. Nothing smart about them. I don't see the point of this s@#*, as long as you cand have nicer frames if you need prescription galasses and your preferred earbuds for far better sound experience.

What's smart about them? These glasses will have you look like a plonker when answering a phone call in public. Trust me your own family will have you committed. As someone who actually wears glasses, I wish Huawei focused on vision and AI on the "smart glasses". Nonetheless good video!

If you can't use the actual lenses to see digital content its fecking pointless. For me to look like a speccy twatt I'd expect fully immersive VR or at least to dispose of the need to be walking around with my phone. FAIL.
