Dupont was immense for France. We really need a 9 with that kind of speed with passing, Youngs seemed like he wasn't sure whether to pass it or not sometimes. Well played France, that was a thoroughly deserved win and you made us look absolutely clueless. Hopefully this'll make Jones realise how fatal an error it was to not pick a specialist 8 (*COUGH* Dombrandt *COUGH*), Jonny May and Genge were the only two who performed for us on the day.
C'mon man ford tried his best but was denied on many occasions and Farrell was just lost after that hit in the 1st half. So mistakes were made but let's just hope we are back on our feet in week 2
@@lavindusiyambalapitiya561 Farrell never seems to know what to do when they're behind. Ford did do alright trying to get the team back into the game, but it took Genge making some hits and May doing his usual work to get us looking like a credible threat again. Curry wasnt ready for the 8 shirt, though, we really do need a real 8 in the squad.

As a French, I don't understand Jones' "psychology", who over-motivated the young French players by trying to intimidate them, this was both stupid and disrespectful.
Don't worry, the French didn't need that, they were already super motivated before. Funny thing is, I've noticed that in football and rugby, everytime that the english become arrogant and promise something before to start the match, they always get back their arrogance in their faces when they're loosing. So, I hope the english will continue to be arrogant for the sake of their foes :D

England showed complacency, and it was too late when they woke up. Also, England without Vunipolas and Tuilagi cannot develop their game properly. Still one of the best team in the world. Credit to the France team that manage to "brutalize" them.

I don’t see your point you’ve gone from calling us welsh from arrogant to jealous and btw England have realistically underachieved, with they’re massive player pool (The most amount atm) and financial advantage (big sponsor deals ) have extremely underachieved on the other hand, Wales have overachieved, with there low player pool ( the lower bracket of amount of eligible players in this World Cup and past years)and low finance ( some sponsorship but because the lack of welsh supporters because of low population= less money deals...) have overachieved as a nation. Not really the biggest rugby fan but I've noticed we do so well in the wc but come six nations we don't perform, dont really get it
Ce match a été remporté par la France du début jusqu'à la fin. La défense française a été franchie que deux fois par May, seulement. J'ai remarqué que les Anglais n'étaient venus dans nos 22m que trois fois dans la première période et l'ont été plusieurs fois en seconde période. Or, le XV de la Rose s'est réveillé qu'à la 56ème minute et c'est ce qui leur a coûté la victoire. Les Bleus ont assuré en défense et en attaque, ils avaient le désavantage dans la mêlée dû au poids (872kg contre 893 pour les Anglais) mais ont réussi à pénaliser leur adversaire. Concernant le jeu de la Rose, il était quasi-inexistant, et la goutte d'eau fût la bagarre (un Cruch sans bagarre n'est pas un Crunch !) qui leur a fait comprendre que leur agressivité ils devaient la mettre dans le jeu au lieu de s'en prendre aux joueurs du XV de France.
J'y crois au Grand Chelem pour nos Bleus et j'espère que ce Tournoi va être révélateur d'une nouvelle génération française à l'image de ce qu'on attendait depuis près de dix ans. BRAVO LES BLEUS

There was a French knock on which was confirmed after the match and he heard Nigel shouting which confused most of England players. But definitely should if played to the whistle.
In retrospect the decision to for the LBP at the end won England the championship.

It was England without three important players, Vunipola brother's and Anthony Watson. But it was also France without three important players, Damain Penaud (winger),Camile Chat (hooker) and Vahamahina (second row).About Vahamahina specificaly his return is inevitable.

I don't understand how Eddie Jones, an experienced coach, can be THAT insulting by claiming England will brutalise France. I mean what does he think ? That French rugby is crap, never mattered and is worthless ? Does he know our history ? Ok we've been very weak this last decade but doesn't he know Rives ? Blanco ? Sella ? Lamaison ? Castaignède ? Dusautoir ? Clerc ? Bernat-Salles ? Benazzi ? Dominici ? Yashvili ? Magne ? Harinordoquy ? Ibanez ? These guys were immense players. France fans will never claim they are the best in the world, but on our day we can put 40 points past NZ. It would be good that Jones remembers that. We have our own way of playing, which is I think healthy for world rugby. The days of Franco-English hatred of the late 80s early 90s are long gone. France always talks about English rugby with respect, it would be nice if England did the same.

It happens with all British accents - many are amazingly and hugely different. When they first hear a Welsh accent for example, they confuse it for English. Cause they don't know any better. Cause all they ever hear from the UK is things to do with England. It's not their fault, but they are still ignorant as they don't learn things for themselves. They'd rather be told than take it upon themselves to learn.
English is neither my mother language nor my everyday language, so it is certain that I don't have a lot of knowledge on these different accents, just like you should not have much, none even, on the very many accents of French in the world and even especially in the mosaic of regions that make up France. But I thought he was American with words said differently from English like "tweny" instead of "twenty" for example, and words with missing letters which characterize for me US English. ^^

well, if the French did in fact touch it (not even sure, very hard to see with any views I have seen), what's certain is that it pushed the ball backward, in the head of the english player that deviated it backward, for the english team, or forward, for the french team... if so, it isn't, as far as I know, a "forward pass"...
btw, the referee decided to let play because it was clear that it was a clear try occasion and while he could nullify the try after the fact, and he checked, he couldn't give back the occasion if he stopped... it just wasn't clear who touched the ball in the review, let alone live...

If you think that northern hemisphere rugby(and I think you are one of those that looks at things from only an England team point of view, given our discussions to date) is in good shape, look at the World Cup record of Southern vs Northern........it's 8 to 1. England's losses in rugby delights most rugby fanatics. They lost to a team who are often challenged and sometimes beaten by tier two teams.
Jonny May scores two tries, but he pretty much gives two away by not playing to the whistle in the first try, i.e. standing still and not giving chase, and a really poor defensive read for the last try. Watch him move across the field when the break is made down the blindside, he flails his arms and ends up doing absolutely nothing.

World rugby seriously needs to sort out the amount of time that No.10s take to kick penalties and conversions. Once the ball is on the tee, 20 seconds max should be more than enough. Owen Farrell and Johnny Sexton take the absolute piss with the amount of time they take

If England can beat New Zealand in the semi final of the World Cup we should be able to beat France in the six nations. Completely disappointed from and England perspective but well done France.
I’ve not had a chance to view this game before but it’s clear that France should have been disallowed the first and third tries for forward pass and knock on respectively although by all accounts they had a good knock and are looking much more cohesive than usual.

I think Owens deserves credit for allowing the french to play on for the second try and then check the knock on. If I am honest it probably was a knock on but the fact that Owens didn’t go with his initial thought and allowed the promising play to finish should be something all referees should do
I usually am not a fan of Owens, but on this game he was brilliant

It is strange that nobody has seen a clear forward pass on the second Johnny may try at 3.30 ... hopfully for France that does not change the résult and the win of this game...
The first try from France was a forward pass as well, but nobody's complaining about it. If its given its given.

Awesome display by France, nice to see them really performing again after so many years of dross. Neutral Welshman here but have to sat was disappointed with TMO, ball clearly came off french hand for their second try, doesnt take anything away from the victory though.
The ball touched french hand, went towards blue line and bumped into english head and went towards english line. Try is valid.
