This doesn't seem at all like the Nolan films. Those movies glamourized Batman's resources to the point where it seemed crazy that nobody had pieced together that Bruce was Batman. Nolan's Batman drove a pimped out tank, had access to top tier equipment, and all of it was developed by Lucius Fox while he worked for Wayne Enterprises. This Batman seems more gritty and dependent on his own fighting skills and training, like a Year 2 Batman would.
I'm sure if it were in the real world, anyone would figure out that any version of Bruce Wayne is Batman, hell that was even touched upon in TDK when Coleman Reese figured it out, but this is fiction, same way no one can tell Clark Kent from Superman when all he does is wear glasses.

Reeves has already said that the film focuses more on his detective skills than big action sequences, so I wouldn’t get hopes up for that. Besides, Joker has almost no action scenes, and was the most profitable DC film to date. Don’t underestimate audiences. If the storyline is intriguing they’ll come. It doesn’t need mindless action all the time.

Dj Genius Well it’s a good thing that the company isn’t telling the story then. Matt Reeves is and he has a good history with writing original screenplays and has been given full creative licence hence why it takes place in its own separate universe.
To be fair I don't mind this different look for Bruce Wayne. I'm getting goth vibes which I like. It kinda makes sense considering the death of his parents. But then I do agree that Bruce Wayne is meant to be a mask, a more playboy personality. It would be interesting to see how Batman/Bruce evolves to balance the two. As it's earlier, Year 2, I think he's more violent, brutal, and vengeful than his later days 🤔

This for real feels like a real detective thriller. Which is great, considering how the other films don't tackle this aspect of Batman. As for Bruce, I think this fits where he is right now, a young and vulnerable vigilante.
Hexxagone but early in his career it has to be a challenge channeling all that darkness and anger ONLY into his batman persona. Most likely the reason he can go out day to day and pretend he’s something that he isn’t is because he eventually learned to direct his anger as Batman. It’s not necessarily learned how to be rich it’s learning to make a clear and distinct line between Bruce Wayne and Batman. Which it looks like he hasn’t done yet

Agree Bale was a terrible batman, nothing like the comics in abilities or personality. Not sure about this batman ether very emo like, Batman in the comics is more like Ben affleck tbh, however, ben doesn't have the intelligence of the character down, he's a detective and scientist ffs... He's more DKR, but still closer than any other batman. I want ben to return but that's not going to happen, I really wanted a batfleck movie. I hope they delve into the psyche of the character in this movie. It will probably be a more realistic batman as seen by the villain choices.

I love his Bruce Wayne, looks broken and depressed. He is only in his second year so he will probably work all that Bruce Wayne being the mask out. And even tho action scenes are very cool and important, I don’t think that’s something audience wants to see more of more than the emotional side of the story.

To be fair I don't mind this different look for Bruce Wayne. I'm getting goth vibes which I like. It kinda makes sense considering the death of his parents. But then I do agree that Bruce Wayne is meant to be a mask, a more playboy personality. It would be interesting to see how Batman/Bruce evolves to balance the two. As it's earlier, Year 2, I think he's more violent, brutal, and vengeful than his later days 🤔

This for real feels like a real detective thriller. Which is great, considering how the other films don't tackle this aspect of Batman. As for Bruce, I think this fits where he is right now, a young and vulnerable vigilante.

Bruce Wayne grew up in high society with his father being a direct example. He doesn't need to learn to be a pubic figure.
Hexxagone but early in his career it has to be a challenge channeling all that darkness and anger ONLY into his batman persona. Most likely the reason he can go out day to day and pretend he’s something that he isn’t is because he eventually learned to direct his anger as Batman. It’s not necessarily learned how to be rich it’s learning to make a clear and distinct line between Bruce Wayne and Batman. Which it looks like he hasn’t done yet

Not sure about this batman ether very emo like, Batman in the comics is more like Ben affleck tbh, however, ben doesn't have the intelligence of the character down, he's a detective and scientist ffs... He's more DKR, but still closer than any other batman. I want ben to return but that's not going to happen, I really wanted a batfleck movie. I hope they delve into the psyche of the character in this movie. It will probably be a more realistic batman as seen by the villain choices.
