I ordered the Titan plus because I was scared from the Internet redditors saying the luxe was too soft. The plus feels WAY too firm after our first night. Should we give it some time before trying out the luxe? I weigh 280 and my wife 230. I’m a stomach sleeper she is a side. Thanks!
Note: we decided on the plus because it didn’t have that extra soft topper. Our last mattress was also a hybrid with a soft topper and we SUNK so much into it and caused back issues. I was worried the luxe would do the same.

You could try it for a few more weeks to see if it breaks in. However, I am doubtful you're going to find it ever gets soft enough.
The Titan Plus is a very firm mattress.

Why are all these mattresses rated so high? I've never seen one under 9.36. I get it, they're all apparently great mattresses, but it doesn't help us tell the better ones apart.

We make a point to only test higher end mattresses, that is perhaps the most significant reason.
If we were to test lower end / mid-tier mattresses you'd see many mattresses receiving notable worse scores.
But I do hear your point. In the coming months I'd like to build out a series of tools and metrics to help better communicate the performative difference between scores. Here are some of the ideas I'd like to potentially include:
      1) Percentile score ranking
      2) Absolute ranking number
      3) Score relative to performance
If you have any suggestions I'd be happy to hear them.

@@NapLabReviews Please, for my entertainment, review the cheapest bed-in-a-box possible. Then be brutal in your review.

@@theycallmeeazy "Today we're reviewing your bedroom floor. While floor is indeed supportive, at 0.0" of comfort foam it creates significant pressure point issues that even the most hardy sleepers will find tough to deal with. However, at a price of just $0 it still remains a compelling value...is switching to the floor right for your body? Let's find out now!"
Lol...but seriously, that's a great idea, and something I plan to do. Ideally before EOY.
We've got 6 or so mattresses in your testing queue right now. As soon as we're done with these I want to get the new 3 Purple mattresses in their restore line, Tuft and Needle and Costco mattresses after that, and then I want to make a pass by Amazon's most popular and cheapest mattresses.
This $100 6" Linenspa mattress with 66K reviews at 4.3 stars looks like a great place to start - www.amazon.com/LINENSPA-Inch-Innerspring-Mattress-Twin/dp/B011397784/
