Today, we're taking a look at the new McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Target Exclusive Batman of Zur-En-Arrh, based on his appearance from Grant Morrison's Batman R.I.P.
Batman of Zur-En-Arrh is a deeply repressed alternate personality Batman created as a fail safe if he is ever psychologically compromised. He is a Batman untethered from Bruce Wayne and his moral code and conscience.
In this video, we not only review the figure but also look at a lot of headswap options for potential customizers.

the only reason i was considering getting this fig was to do resin casts of the head. I think its the best Batman head theyve done. The Hush figure also looks promising
I preordered the Two-Pack. Really hoping the elbow joint is fixed in the actual production run, and also hoping for a closed-mouth single carded version. Heck, I'd buy them in black and blue if they offered it.

I honestly agree.
Great looking figure but it shouldn't have been a megafig. I know he can change his height in the comics, but he mostly chooses to be around 7ft tall, so a figure the size of Lobo would've been more appropriate.
Guessing this was meant for Frankenstein?

I consider myself a comic nerd, and even I didn't know what it is lol I'd seen images of it and I remember the original Mattel figure, but I didn't know the backstory. Glad he is readily available for you. I had to ask someone to look in the back for mine lol But hey, that's where it was.

I just realized this. Is this the same head sculpt as year two Batman? Gosh McF is good with reusing their molds.
Not the same exactly. Year Two is a solid head and neck piece, whereas this is just a head, and also has different ears, texture, and facial scars. I do think that they started with that head though. This is a common thing in toy making, and helps to create a better sense of continuity between different figures in the same line. For instance, how similar the Flashpoint, Death Metal, and Three Jokers head are.
The problem with McFarlane's torso articulation is because the whole ball peg is buried deep and enclosed in the socket, that's why it is impeded.
The socket should have a 25 degree opening for the ball peg to move around it. It's a simple engineering problem, they can't seem to figure.
I've seen people go in and Dremmel them and get a lot more out of it. I may take a swing at it sometime.
Anyways are you going to review the dc multiverse superman solar suit and the dark detective batman figures next man?

I was thinking of picking this up for head swaps but the scarred face is keeping me away. I’m hoping we’ll see the head unscarred in the future.
I wonder if with a paint wash the scarring would look like stubble.

Isn’t possibile swap the head with the 3 jokers batman removing it from the neck?
The Three Jokers Batman has a single head/neck unit. If you cut the head off of the neck, it would be a solid piece. That said, you could probably Dremmel it to hollow out enough space inside and then use a drill to make a hole for the top of the dumbbell joint. It's entirely possible, but a little more advanced than an easy head swap.
