  • A new redevelopment plan in Westfield, New Jersey, has neighbors pushing back. The huge project will give downtown a boost, but CBS2's Christine Sloan reports opponents fear the plan will change the character of their town.

      yeah, some nerve city residents have to want their own town to stay nice! (I lived there in the 60s and 70s. It's a mutation far beyond that now, most trees are gone and people sell their big yards for another house to be shoe horned it.)

      God forbid people who live near the development are concerned about traffic. It is all about their neighborhood. Thats why they bought houses there.

    I spent a lot of time in Westfield when I worked at L&T. I’m sad it closed but the redevelopment plan looks decent.

      Westfield is not dying. Its one of wealkthiest in Union county.

    The arguments that the citizens have against it are classic NIMBY nonsense... But I don't like the idea of a corporation owning such a large piece of a city. Sounds like just another "lifestyle center"

    So basically, a corporation will own a large chunk of their town that’s called, selling out, not surviving!

      Yeah Some reason big corporationbs always need lots of land to make money or its just not feasible. Baloney!
