Initially I thought just clean and leave that one black as it was somewhat Batman-esque but, I have to admit, that blue glitter looks stellar! Great job!

@@megatodd707 When I got it there were Da'Armond pickups in it, not what I was looking for, it had 7s on it my hand was sliding all around on it, and a Gibson gig bag. Other than that it was perfect. Made a deal with Dane for him to keep the gig bag, the pickups, and the strings (lol) for a discount. I want P90s but am toying with the idea of noiseless because I intend to crank it up on a pair of Marshall stacks. Still looking for pickups. Most important thing is the neck fits my hand just right. Will bring it to the store when I get it together. Thanks for asking, should be fun.

I got one of these myself they’re absolutely wonderful to play, stock tuners/pups aren’t the greatest but it’s legitimately one of my favourite bich’s, as much as I love the WHS I do think a page-top cut would’ve added a little more class

Love this vid, but would've love to see you see how you strip, prep and repaint and how you clean up the dirt and any repairs made to the pointy bits. That would've made this video a whole new level.

I love that you take an old guitar ,and make a one off custom out of it retaining the stock specs ,this one really hit home ,because currently ,i'm rebuilding an old Antares BC Rich Bich copy ,and believe it or not it is dark blue ,and my plan was to paint the edges a light blue like that ,had to find a lp copy neck to fit the square neck pocket ,and out of respect for BC Rich i reshaped the headstock with cat ears like the Antares were ,and gonna put in my own lightning bolt inlay on the headstock with a veneer flame maple top just on the headstock ,but believe me this body look like it had years of neglect ! Thank you for inspiring us all Garbage to Glitter ",keep up the great work !

me iam the opasite i hate black just cant stand it it shows every little thing it get dirty real easy. nope just dont like it , but iam not a BC guy either never have been. never undrerstood the cult following. of that brand. im a strat / washnurn/ML style person the ML dtyle is just ergononic to me unlike a V wee it slips off yor lap the ML sit perfect because of that exploer front horn. balance it all out . jusrt about every BC to me is neck heavy. but like you said its an opinion. every onbe likes dif rent things if we all like the same stuff it would be avary boaring life here.

ive been talking to Dane about me gettting a small powder caotinng system for say floyds and other stuff to do . the biggest issue is on bridges it all the small litttle parts that move afloyd say for instance i would hacve to basicly break it all down and anything that isnt suposed to have any paint or coating on it has to masked off plugged or coverd in special high temp tape floyd rrose stated it would be to expencxive and costly to color floyds if youthing 350.00 is high they siad it would really bring up the price .. but i have thought about trust me...

Awesome refinish on this one. As an owner of several BC Rich's from the mid-late 80s, I don't think I've ever seen "BC Rich" branded pickups before. I had a ST III (in Tony MacAlpine finish) which had those EMG-looking pickups, but they weren't branded, they were just plain black covers. When did BC Rich start branding their pickups? Was it a 90s thing?

dunno man, prolly shoulda left that lacquer and binding alone, it wa a rare version, very few of those were bound, I know now I tell ya.. what some guys will do is put a thin poly clear over the original paint then you can blow a lacquer metallic finish over that, so if you ever want to go back to the original you can rub that new finish off easy enough, preserve that old nice finish, I saw that and went oh no he isn't going to go over that for sure, a good polish would have made that body look SPECTACULAR, maybe throw a lacquer metallic finish over it, thin coat, then you have the glitter but at any time you can rub it off and be back to your original stock finish, thats whats going to hold value for these..
dunno if you have any more your going to do but if so you might want to consider getting creative in this manner, any rare or spectacular finishes maybe find a way they can be brought back by rubbing off the new finish, your metallic colors finishes so forth, you can tint clear as well to give it color, man that Bish has binding on it, wonder if a guy got bored he could tape it off and razor off that finish over the binding? or rub it off? it was nice and yellowed patina too, some people they wait 50 years for their binding to tint out like that, and you painted right over it.. 😮
oh well if there is the will there is a way and a guy could prolly get that over finish off if he wanted, bring her back to stock, was that a japan model?
