    That guitar looks awsome. You would pay hundreds to have a guitar reliced like that. Great sounding too. Good vid.

    I remember when BCRs came with Super Distortions and the built-in preamp and the chicken head knobs. Very old school. I never cared for the pre-amps as they added way too much fuzz and took away clarity. Also, EMGs would have been better for an active setup, although I prefer good old passive Super Distortions. BTW, the neck pup is probably a PAF. This was a very common combo used by Dave Murray among many other players in the 70s and 80s. Along with the JB/Jazz combo, it's one of the most popular combos ever.

    I'd love to see that guitar repainted to original, that'd look so bad ass especially with that old Kahler. Other than that I'd never use Windex because wood and ammonia don't mix, I'd just use some Music Nomad guitar polish on it, it's carnauba based, clean that geetar right up.

    • @pittbrat7963
      @pittbrat7963 ปีที่แล้ว

      forget carnauba! the top layer of this guitar is made up of cig smoke,rotten pieces of pasta sauce,remains of 250 year old insects and cum. So only windex will help here.

    Great work Dane. Since it is a rare model i would definately keep it TV Jones yellow/Yngwie yellow in the color (as close to the original) color. Great find & great pickups. 👍

    Yeah I would never spray glitter paint over a classic 1982 Bitch! That guitar is freaking perfect the way it is specially with all of this original parts. The pickups and trem are worth a bunch by themselves please don't ruin that guitar! Love the channel and I actually really like the way you and your buddy re paint and spruce up the cheaper guitars, that shit is cool, just not this one!

    My guess on the neck pickup is a Dimarzio PAF but it’s a guess the super distortion PAF set is their answer to the SD JB/Jazz combo I wouldn’t have said anything but you mentioned it a few times in the video so personally I feel Naphtha would be a better choice than windex because the ammonia in the windex is harsh I’m only saying that because it’s what twoodfrd suggests to use on guitars and his results are amazing and ammonia can have serious reactions to some kinds of finishe

    Man I would have been scared of catchin some disease off something that nasty. I think I woulda worn elbow length rubber gloves and a full on Bio Hazard mask to clean that. As far as the paint job.. People pay crack head prices to get that look done to a new guitar right now so I would not change a thing in that department. Glue up that crack in the headstock before that split runs. A full neck reset, frets leveled and crowned and for gods sake intonation properly set. I would keep the OG screws but upgrade them all to stainless steel so they never rust or tarnish.

  • @edwardippoliti626

    Try to keep it original if you can ,just repair the chips ,if you can keep it mint original, but if you do decide to redo it you have to do a top notch job,very rare guitar nowadays! lemon pledge works great too ,as long as you wipe right away ,windex is fine too" .

    Lmao I’d like to see a Gibson that’s pickup routs are as clean and smooth as this BC Rich …. That’s what made in Japan quality is all about…. And as far as the little 4 on the back of the bridge pickup after the model number is probably referring to it being a 4 conductor pickup instead of a 2 conductor pickup but I honestly don’t know for sure I love 80’s guitars especially the Japanese made stuff but I know more about Ibanez Roadstar series 2 than just about anything else #FujiGenGuitarsForever

  • @thenightstalker8095
    @thenightstalker8095 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    If this is an 82 model I'm pretty sure it's a USA model, the NJ Series wasn't released until 1983, I think it's a USA model, not all USA models have the R logo but all models with the R logo atr USA BC Rich models, and the fact you have the serial number on the headstock means it is not an NJ Series model, but both USA and NJ Series (at least 1983-85 models when they were still made in Japan) BC Riches are excellent quality.

    • @skxj
      @skxj 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @ Damien Zero the japanese BC Rich NJ series had an 'R' 6 digit serial number sticker under the clear coat on the back of the headstock exactly like this guitar has. The first 2 digits are the year this is an 84. The headstock face were a bit mixed up this guitar appears to have been modified as it should have small capital font 'B' and 'C' on either side of the 'R' but also ich stacked vertically under the 'R' with 'nj series' in gold just above the truss rod cover
      B. R C.
      I
      C
      H
      NJ series
      They also labeled them BC RICO the same way for a time. Id bet the previous owner painted the headstock black but masked the R off so as to look like an American made. This however is just me guessing. At any rate those very well built japanese guitars that kick ass. Hope this helps. Cheers.

      That guitar is a 1989-1993. Look up that sticker numbering "RXXXXXX" it’s for imported models. It’s not N.J. That was my favorite of the import models. I would like to buy it as is if you sell it. I would only buy it if it’s original.

    Neck probably a paf

  • @pupstop1
    @pupstop1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    the bridge humbucker appears to say DP104 which is a Super 2, not the traditional super distortion, the neck pickup is a PAF and needs to be flipped back over, that likely is not how the factory mounted it but the original/previous owner flipped it. Please don't paint this guitar some glitter neon color, please keep it the stock aged white, even if you refinish it keep it the same color
