Really interesting to watch your quilting and hear your process as you test FMQ on the Featherweight

Thanks KayDee. This is not my featherweight but I am sure it would work the same. Hmm. I will have to try quilting on one soon.
I enjoy hearing others thought process as they are working. I am glad you enjoyed mine. It helps some times.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. Have a good one.

Would a darning foot work better? Or maybe an open toe? I got the feed dog cover from the FW shop. I am going to look for the darning foot. I also have the open toe applique foot. There is also a foot spring that I have for my 401a that I am going to see if they have for the FW. Love the tutorial.

Depends on your machine. I think the 401 spring foot is a slant foot?? It wont work on a FW.
I have used a spring foot many times and been successful. also, when I straight line quilt, no doubt the walking foot is the winner. It is especially good with quilting because it helps hold the layers together. It is still important to keep smoothing out your fabric as you sew.
I have a darning foot and it did not work for me. Of course, feel free to try it and please come back and share your thoughts here. We all learn from one another.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. It is much appreciated. Be well.

Is there a reason not dropping feed dogs?

Hi Mona. Just because it really didn't matter this time. They weren't interfering much. And flipping the 201 up out of the box (at about 26 pounds and tipping it) is not easy for me. It is not anchored at all. I could use a plate to cover it. Maybe I will do that. Hope you have success with your vintage machines as well. Can't wait to see them. See ya when I see ya!!!
