I worked the elections in my precinct in 2020. 1/3 of our total in person voting group was new registration voters under 21. When I worked the midterm election in 2022, they were nearly 50%. What that means is that while voter turnout for midterms decreases for registered voters, the new voters are either showing up for the first time or showing up every time in stronger numbers. This is the first generation after Sandy Hook to realize that the political apparatus wasn't going to do anything until they had a voice, and now they're using it. Abortion is a 3rd rail with Gen Z NORMALLY, but now... best of luck, Republicans.

Also, you can’t think of a country with open borders because none exist. “Open borders” is nothing but a buzz word Trump uses to fear monger his supporters. Like it or not, we need immigration or our economy would collapse.

in germany its mandatory when you move to register your new residency at city hall. with that your voting documents are automatically sent to you when election approaches. including an envelope if you dont want to vote in person on election day. you could say so germans have to register too, however, if you get your voting documents mailed to you i think you are more likely to actually vote.

I've been an independent since my first POTUS vote in 1976. I'll be dang near 70 just a few days after this year's election. Only this time has it dawned on me that the young folks here in America are going to decide how this country goes. I hope and pray that they make the right decision as the Baby Boomers hand over the reigns. Don't get cynical or toss away your vote. You are now in the driver's seat of America's future as we were in '76 through the mid 80's.
Take politics out of it, take religion out of it. A simple human needs is what we need to vote for. Economic and job security (can’t have that with weak labor laws, immigrants and tyrannical CEO’s and bosses who don’t care about anything but the bottom line). Neighbor safety (can’t have that without strong families with ties to each other and police officers who reside in the community). Integrity and anti corruption in government (not letting business put government officials in their pocket). Those three things pretty much solve everything but apparently we are too dumb.
