  • In this video I build a static replica of Obi-Wan/Ben Kenobi's Lightsaber from the Disney+ series using custom 3D-print files, and various propmaking techniques: including a unique way to get a metallic chrome effect!
You can find the 3D files on Cults3D here: cults3d.com/en...
    or on Thingiverse here: www.thingivers...

I do definitely *"Absolutely Love"* sanding, it's the best part of any project.

This is really beautiful work. I already downloaded the 3D print files and I just added the nail polish to my Amazon cart so I can make one of these. I'd like to eventually make all the major lightsabers like Obi-Wan's, Vader's, Luke's (originally Anakin's), etc. I'm not too big on the sequels so I doubt I'll attempt Rey's (even though it's really just Luke/Anakin's) or Kylo Ren. Anyway, great video and beautiful work on this prop.

Dude! What an Awesome build! Soon as I get a 3D printer I’m doing this and Anakin’s ROTS saber. Also really want to do Captain Rex full Armor and helmet.
But the first thing I need to do when I get one is a fully enclosed Revan helmet, I just got his Hilt (The Revanted) from Warsabers and am currently installing it now!

If you find a print file for Luke’s saber online (check thingiverse) the process of making it would be very similar!

How long did you wait (in minutes) between spraying the gloss black paint and rubbing in the powder? I know you said before the paint dries, just curious if you’ve found a sweet spot in your experience.

This is by far the best chrome finish we've seen, we watched Pete's video too, and you did a great job on the whole lightsaber that could work as a hero prop. We tried out this method on our lightsaber stunt props th-cam.com/video/AbDhVsk3Gy0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=IoVIY00p8Dntd1tI

I'm glad you liked this video, and thanks for your interest in my Johnny Silverhand video! Unfortunately, I was disappointed by Cyberpunk 2077, and lost my enthusiasm for that build. I may return to it in the future, but for now I have other projects I want to pursue. However, I did release the patterns I made in the description of that video for anyone to use for their own build!

This is so awesome!! looks like it walked off the set !! I've been so frustrated with trying to get thay really nice chrome finish on past projects with less than stellar results . What specific nail polish glitter did you use? Also do you by chance do commissions? Unfortunately don't have access to a 3d printer ☹

I am not doing commissions as of now, but I know there are services, like Shapeways, that will print models for you. You could also try finding a makerspace in your area; they often have 3D printers and a tech on hand to help.
      I hope this was helpful!
